I don't know there's something about that article that smells fishy, like its totally fake.

The lame little pictures with no blood on the fence.
The lame pictures of the old me could have snagged those from google.images

The man saying that's the most barbaric thing in he's ever seen. I take it this man's never been to a soccer match that went wrong there in bloody england.

And "Stolen" bats. Come the hell on. Someone doesn't have a "BAT" and needs to steal one in order to beat someone down?

Just food for thought.

Hooray for humanity and evolution!!!!! Good thing we have a space program! I'm sure all the other lifeforms in the universe are anxiously waiting to meet us!

One thing I didn't see in the article; did the guy die? I mean you would think he did after an attack like that, but I've seen pictures of people stabbed in the head with an 8" kitchen knife buried in their head up to the hilt who walked away with little to no after effects.

Well I watched some video footage of the victims' father and policemen so I don't think it's a fake article although with them having very thick Irish accents I couldn't understand a word they were saying. Hell, it could have been a video interview from 1980 and they could have been talking about native Irish fowl.

Plus, I don't think the BBC would knowingly report a fake story. They are a pretty reliable and impartial news source.

Well that article was pretty recent from the attack. It was written I think the day after. I'm guessing people in Ireland are still a little stunned by it. I haven't heard of anything like that since the attack in the US a few years ago.

I'm sure the BBC will update it as soon as they hear something. F7's right. The BBC doesn't screw around when it comes to stuff like this. It was real. I saw some of it on CNN as well.

I hope the guy is ok.

No, it isn't a fake. The victim lived, but they were trying to save his hands.

You all have short memories. I could read off a list that makes this crime seem tame, but I WON'T.

BTW, they still stone people to death in some places and that's a result of local law.

I know Shirley. I haven't forgotten about places like that. I guess this was more shocking to some since it happened in a first/second world country. Most of the local laws in places where stoning is done are third world countries. Not that any of that should matter since all of these acts are barbaric.

The one story that I'm trying to follow is a mother in the middle east who had a baby out of wedlock--she's not married. Her punishment is that she's going to be buried up to her head and people are going to stone her to death. Last I heard, her lawyers have got her in hiding since the appeal wasn't overturned. They were going to take her as soon as she was done breast-feeding.
