Poorly scripted zone sheets:(
Ok, below is a picture of my new map, CTF-Cipher, attached to this post. I just added a zone sheet that totally encompasses the level with some extra slack. It is obviously a lava texture and i have it set to zone portal, 2 sided, and non solid. The geometry of my mountains is obviously denying me the ability to zone off the lava sheet and what lies beneath to create an actual lavazone. I have gone into zone view after over 50 different rebuilds with 50 different settings and seen the same zone color above and beneath proving it to not be a different zone. Who scripted this ****! lol
Anyways, could someone who knows unrealscript help me create a worthy zone sheet?

It has nothing to do with scripting. The editor does not like something about how you did your portal. Try making the portal sheet solid, or semi solid. If that does not work then get rid of the sheet and try making a zone box around the area (all sides portals of course) and make it non-solid. It takes a long while to figure out all the nuances in unrealed, and even when you do somethings just never work right. Sometimes that means rebuilding whole sections of your level 'properly' with no sloppiness at all. Other times it just means screw it!

hmmm
try getting rid of the lava zone
and the zone sheet render the map then lay the sheet down then add the zone in the re render if u add anything that crosses a zone sheet after it has been zoned it effects zoning

if unrealed doesnt allow me to zone off an area with a zonesheet then something is not scripted efficiently.
I will try to take out the brush and then do a full rebuild and re-add it again and then do another full rebuild again. UnrealEd's bsp rendering engine is not able to see the zone sheets collision within the level, therefore making it an oblivious object to the bsp of the level. When i uncheck portal and non-solid while using a 2 unit thick cube, it works fine...its just these crappy zonesheets that arent build perfectly. I hope this next quote doesnt piss people off but... "Who didn't pay these original scripters enough?"

I tried to make the zonesheet solid. the 1 unit thickness isnt enough in this type of geometry so I tried to make the zonecube which also didnt work
![]() the fact that a regular cube brush zones off the map and an actual zonesheet doesnt annoys the crap out of me.

Don't forget to try semi-solid
There are other things you can try such as telling the renderer to give zoning higher priority. Use the slider bar to do that as a last resort, and it takes a lot of experimentation. But it would be better that you look at how your level is built. You have many things intersecting that sheet and anyone of those thing could be causing minor holes in your sheet.

axiom
u can now play that map quick fix u can redo the mountains i didnt change them
