HATSUNE MIKU IS THE BEST!!

Few steps closer to... <3
Back in time... <---( to 06-24-2008 = Broblems of creating models and animation data for UT2004)
Finally... I got the model AND textures for/of what I've always wanted: Yuna (from Final Fantasy X-2) ![]() its in these files: <--NOTICE! "tiedosto" means "file" ![]() - sure the "TGA" files are the textures - "model.obj" should be the model - but what is that "model.mtl" file? anyway... oh, and heres a screenshot from 3Ds max 9: ![]() so, the problem is that: - I need to rename/make the bones that this would run in UT2004 correctly. How? - same about animation data and model/mesh^ - it has 4 texture files? need to make them to 2 and also my 3Ds does not open the "ActorX" plugin so I cant export it to a correct file format. Please help. ![]() |

The bones names are the critical part. Yeah, you'll probably want to try and fit the actual UT2004 skeletal rig on your model, but it's most likely not going to be exactly a match. Try to keep the proportions of the bones similar to the UT2004 rig. (also on UDN IIRC) Animation data should be no problem once you get the rigged model in Ued. And you have the model (or mesh) already. Not sure if you really need to worry about making the 4 tex files 2. You can have as many different textures (skins) as you want. Hope that helps.

And what are UDN and IIRC? Are they freeware? Im too lazy to buy a new program... hmm... are there any better forums where talk about this? Last edited by Chaos_Snake_666; 04-13-2009 at 11:08 PM. |

IIRC = "If I Remember Correctly"
UDN = Unreal Developer Network (one ActorX page there) (search for max character rigs there too) (*that* should help) ![]() Good luck.

I like it very much. Probably a bit harder to model for UT3 than it is for UT2k4.
The only time I have modeled before is for Quake and I didn't even start from scratch. Real art must be drawing a character and modeling it completely by yourself.
