Microsoft Seeks Another OS-Level Adware Patent
from slashdot.org ........... "Microsoft has just published a patent application for advertising triggered by sequences of user actions , which describes how to interrupt game playing, music listening, and photo viewing with pop-up ads ( 'the components may be integrated directly into the operating system' ). So will this ad technology get a free pass from Windows Defender ?

I think it would be better to just create the Microsoft Retinal Implant.
You have this inserted into your eye, then your every move is tracked and what you are looking at is also tracked. Then they can flash advertisements right to your brain from a global advertising satellite network and display them as an overlay to what you see. Imagine it! Your standing there taking a pi$$ and advertisements show up asking if you want to buy viagra. Let's take this idea further. In stage 2 the implants are migrated into your brain where they can send visual and audio advertisments straight to your eyes an ears! Walking down the street, you see a pretty girl with long hair and immediately you hear a jingle about pantene. Or maybe you are grabbing a quick cup of coffee at some quicky mart, but starbucks has outbid everyone for the coffee adverts.. so you hear a commercial about how starbucks coffee is so much better. Oh, there is one down side.. the gov passed a bill about feeding the poor and slipped an amendment in there so that they can also access the network for tracking possible terrorists. (I claim copyright to this idea and any variation of it.) Some marketing nut might read this and just about have a heart attack about how good of an idea it is. ![]()

Nvidia Texture Tools In other news, warning labels cause anxiety attacks. Coming soon, a new "friendly" warning label will have a warning label that can be peeled off the real warning label. This new "peel and reveal" label will warn that the warning label underneath could cause severe anxiety if you read it. Please use with caution. |

Well Radio, it appears the day is coming sooner than later when online gaming won't be worth it for anyone who wants to avoid being spammed continuously with advertisers' crap.
