Another site that hosts osm map downloads?
I've been looking around for sites that have OSM maps...but I only found one which was Nali City and it only had OSM-nocturn. The reason is because I've tried downloading some of the maps from here but UP doesn't support RESUME for download managers on their downloads. I use dial up
(can't get dsl where I live) so it takes like 6 hours to dl something 50mb and my connection fails every 3 hours.Wondering if there is another site that host these files.

I know exactly what it's like to be on dial up... 10mb an hour is painful...
It's really up to the author where they host their files. Sometimes sites such as File Planet automatically pick up files and provide a mirror, but they seem to cease doing this for a game after a while. The second problem is not all sites will let you upload mod files... for example, MapRaider won't let you upload OSM. I usually try to upload to the major sites, where possible, and provide a direct download. If there's a specific map you'd like, if you PM the author or request it here, I'm sure they would happily e-mail you the map in sections or in split .rar archives when they get a moment. Or, you could resort to what I used to do - go to a friend's house with a list and a couple of blank cd's.

So far, UnrealPlayground is the only site with a dedicated category for OSM Adventure maps. But there are some sites (like NaliCity) that allow miscellaneous maps to be hosted.
I know that UT200xFiles (which redirects to FileFront) hosts a few OSM maps. OSM-Gauntlet OSM-Guide OSM-Wangara I recommend OSM map authors to upload there as well as UP. But, I feel your pain as well. I'm still on dialUP at home.

I'd be more than happy to put them on CD for you, however being in the UK the postage might be a pain in the butt!
While someone a bit closer (or at least on the same continent) might be better, if you sent me a CD/DVD and a stamped addressed enveloped (preferably padded) with a list I'd "burn & return". Obviously just double-check the authors' permissions first, but I'm sure they would be OK as no money's changing hands, we're just helping out fellow Playgrounders.

It's actually quite cheap to post from UK to US - before the postage changed you can get away with a few discs for under a quid. Just don't forget the customs label.

I can handle most maps here that are 25 less..there is one map in particular that someone recommended me. It is OSM-ResidentUnreal..if anyone wants to deal with it I'd be appreciated.

You mean mail it right..perhaps I'll hold you to that sometime We are thinking of getting satellite internet. I hear its not all too well for games like this but at least I could dowload stuff faster. Its a bit pricey too ![]()
