Switching to Opera

I had another memory leak with Firefox last night and I only had 15 tabs open. Another one this morning with only 7 tabs open, had to kill the firefox process to get the processor back.

So I've made a change to Opera for a while, and possible permanently. It has all the features that I look for in a web browser and honestly don't know why I was so stubborn to stick with Firefox for so long with all the problems I've been having.

Firefox was the best until it after 1.07 or maybe it was when it came out of BETA. Before than I never had trouble with opening 15 tabs at a time.

Anyway it's Opera for me at home, I'll keep running Firefox at work. When I see improvement I'll upgrade the copy on my home PC and go back to it.

Stunt the new Netscape is pretty snazzy. A bit over complex with some things and has a bit of a learning curve but it seems pretty solid. Tabbed browsing and a spank load of other features I haven't quite figured out yet. Takes longer to load than I feel it should but I'll be testing it out to see if I can get used to it.

seconded. though I like opera I haven't found compelling reasons to stay.

hopefully FF2 will fix the memory leaks.

also, those are caused by extensions a lot too. there was a list somewhere of what ones did it.

wo0, netscape vulernabilities ftw! though could be just the linux version....

There is no reason to see an update from Netscape and it must be riddled with other vulnerabilities, making it an unsafe browser to surf the web with. I think we should mask it...
but yea, i used firefox in OS X, windows, Gentoo. and ive never had problems w/ it messing up the css [reply msg you see]. and adblock does what its suppose to block stuff. if your too broad it'll block too much.

It was my full intent, and I'm running Firefox 2 BETA1 right now and the in line spell checker is super sweet. So far no lockups so I'm loving it.

I still have Opera installed and there are things about I do like more than Firefox, so I'll be using Firefox beta a bit more to see if I like it.

The reason i went to opera was firefox decided to pack it in and start being a real pain in the neck, but hey! opera just packed it in too! It's not the programs fault, its either mine or my retarded computer

Now i'm using Sea monkey, i chose it because it has a cool name.

I still like opera more than Firefox and Seamonkey

I'm updating my earlier comment to say that everyone I knew (before you guys commented ) had gone back due to issues using it on a network.
None of us have any problems using it "normally" on t'internet, but over through a network proxy with strong security Opera can be an annoying little swine, asking for authentication on way to many pages - and every time we think we've found a way to turn it off ... we haven't!
