McDonald's To Post Nutrition Info On Packaging
from wftv.com ..... POSTED: 12:41 pm EDT October 25, 2005
OAK BROOK, Ill. -- Starting next year, McDonald's will be offering nutrition information on the packaging of its menu items. The world's largest restaurant company already provides that information on its Web site. But it has resisted calls to post it in restaurants or on its packaging until now. The new packaging will be introduced in McDonald's restaurants in North America, Europe, Asia and Latin America starting in the first half of 2006. McDonald's said it expects to have the packaging available in more than 20,000 of its 30,000-plus restaurants worldwide by the end of next year. "We are putting the information customers need literally into their hands," McDonald's CEO Jim Skinner said in a news release. "This initiative makes it easier than ever to understand the quality that goes into our food." The packaging will feature icons and bar charts with information on the calories, protein, fat, carbohydrates and sodium in its food. Restaurants in Australia and Brazil already provide a form of nutrition information on their product packaging. And the company's 13,000 U.S. restaurants also have nutrition information on Happy Meal boxes and bags.

'the quality that goes into our food'
lmao Ingredients: Grease, fat, salt, preservatives, meat, genetically altered lettuce, buns This is good though, hopefully people will see the digusting amount of fats and generally things bad for your body in their food and stay away. Although, with Ronald skateboarding all over the '208% of your daily saturated fat' and the generic white + black + asian kids playing soccer all over the 'this product will make you hideous' warning, people might get conflicting messages ![]()

trust me...ppl know when they are fat....and ppl can figure out fastfood is causing it.
You know McDs french fries used to be a crapload healthier?..well like 30 years ago. If they re going to start labeling thier food, its time to make it healthier. Also, just curious...why did McD's agree to put these labels on their packages? Did they actually...WILLING do it? Just seems crazy to me. everyoen already knwos the foods unhealthy...but a reminder is bad for business.
