max 2 ase
ok i can export from max to ase then import to unreal.
BUT it never gives me the textures anybody know how to get the textures in as well?

in the texture browser:
File > import import the textures THEN import the mesh

I beleive that when you import the model, it looks for the textures for it by name. If you have used a texture called 'myRandomTex' in 3dMax, then myRandomTex must be in a package, loaded in UED. else you can load it later and set the texture in the properties of the model.
