changing ut-maps in cs-maps/cs-maps in ut-maps
does anybody know a tool with which i can create a ut map from a counter strike map or a counter strike map from a ut map?
or do i have to create the whole level of my own? |

Very good question since I've never played anything called Counter Strike I'm at a loss to answer.

I believe HL maps are built "backwards" compared to UT maps, i.e. you start with an infinite empty space and add geometry ... so it seems unlikely that there's a conversion tool.

I only know, maps that are build on the ed. 2.0 you can open them with...example is deus ex!

oh yes i knew that already
its the same egine (the unreal engine^^) i used some deus ex textures 4 my ut maps |

CS uses an older Quake engine. I'm afraid you have to build from scratch.

If it yuses an old quake engine, then you can't port it but you can brush rip(brush per brush)it's a long and painstaking process, If I should believe Redfist(who kept sending quake1 ports to NC).
You'll need an extra prog though. |

But Dorko, it's free geometry. Free geometry should be ported whenever possible. Heaven forbid someone has to build architecture of his own. I, for one, am really looking forward to replaying the good old Wolf3D levels in my brand new DX9 games.

I am not sure that its posible to turn Unreal brushes into w/e engine half life is on to.

Even with that, very nice lookin mod, the bots still jump all about and the bot AI is just not suited for the sneakin gameplay.
