Aliasing has, and will, wreck the sense of community, and the fun of fragging with friends. Even those who's alias I do know .. well, plenty of others don't. It's of course a personal choice, but 80% of what makes S1 rock so much is the fun of knowing the other players, your friends and enemies, and fragging like mad.
So ask yourself.. which is more important? Keeping what has always made UP so great? Or having some neato name-of-the-week? (p.s. .. honestly not directed at anyone in particular, and not in any sort of anger. just a question)

well I think peeps should be beyond aliasing by now.... granted back in the day of stat whoring it was muy importante so you could frag wasted and not have to save face for playing like ****e... but I mean come on... the only dickle berries that are even playing anymore have known each other for years..... I think arrogance about ones "skills" on a 5 year old game should be well and done with
btw I was aliasing as player 9 for a about 2 mins whilst I tried to hack my ini back they way it used to be.... damn fresh installs and no ini back ups >_<
