switching teams bind

what's the command for switching teams? I played in a couple lopsided games today (OK, so not due to my skilz, but numbers...

) and I read it somewhere daze ago but that was before I was playing online so much and I forgot what it was....

Is there a button to change between spectator and playing too? without having to disconnect from server and all? I'm sure I saw that somewhere too?

I suppose it could be scripted in your ini but here's a quick way:

During the game escape out to the menu (don't quit, just hit escape). Choose Player Setup and then set yourself to spectate. Go back to the game, call up the console and type "reconnect"- you could just use the reconnect in the menu since you are there... but the console allows you to do it quickly when you want.

Conversely- this is how to get into a full server. Get in as a spectator. Change your setting to NOT be a spectator. As soon as somebody drops out, type reconnect in the console.

As long as we're on binds, I wonder if there is a way to add a filetype to the dropdown menu in wordpad? I would like to be able to just select ".ini" or ".u" or whatever... I checked the ini and inf files of wordpad but didn't see anything specific, certainly not in the ini, but in the inf file, there was a section on user visible strings that had some descriptions of text documents, though I am suspecting those are "hover" tooltips or something...

Scourge, I bound that and it doesn't work. Is that an alias? I also tried to bind the mapvote and that doesn't work either.

F12=mutate bdbmapvote mapmenu
backspace=nextteam

are those right?

Yeah, nextteam is right. It will only work online, and when the other team has less players than yours.

The other bind should be 'mutate bdbmapvote votemenu'

nextteam is UTpure specific comand, and i believe it works with any team numbers so long as force-balance is off.

So it not only needs to be online, it needs to be on a UTPure server.
