Kids, you all know I hate to accuse ppl of stuff (except sucking).

Sometimes it can look like someone has radar-esp. if they have a good ping and get a chance to see something before you do, or is a map has predictable lines of escape.
For a little while now one reg has been yelled at on the server and I thought the maps were so predictable it was no mystery.
But I just covered him in the game-he had the flag and he inexplicably stopped, backed off and loaded rockets and then the EFC rounded a cormer and he engaged him.
Now he was at a full run before-not stopping for ammo or anything else. And with a ping over 200 I don't see how he could have seen the efc coming. If he had been loading rockets and pasting every corner for saftey I could have understood.
I don't want to mention names-I just got off the server-you know who you are...please just cut it out, it's low class.

Please mention names 9. Cheaters do not belong on UP servers and they should be banned immediately regardless of who they are.

Yeah, if you have a personal problem with somebody, then that should be kept in private (I should take my own advice ) but if it is suspected cheating or something similar... people need to know about it for 2 reasons...

1) So if they are cheating, they can be warned and/or banned.

2) So we can find out for ourselves and either agree with you, or explain how they aren't cheating.

Either way, it will hopefully clear things up.

Or if the player runs predictably, or if the killer has a great knowledge of the maps and timing. Good FCs like Idol are often good hunters because they know how FCs run.

But I'd agree the situation you describe sounds fishy. Please bring the player to an admin's attention, so they can be watched. I suspect myself sometimes too, when a player's timing is just TOO good. On the other hand, with the spammy kind of play of late, you are likely to meet 5 rockets when you come around ANY corner.

Some maps some players just know so well they may seem to be using radar. On 433, I love hunting fc's, there are so many routes but you can usually easily predict where they are going to end up and time it near perfect.

So you never know if the person just saw the efc take a certain route and timed it perfectly.

Radar is difficult to prove because the guy you are talking about could have been on a TeamSpeak/RogerWilco server with a teammate who warned him ahead of time. Granted that if it is a non-clan player, that senario is highly unlikely. Clan players often do strange things on various maps that you don't normally see pubs players do. For example, on McSwartzly I always have rockets ready to fly when moving into the middle. If I don't have them loaded up, I'll pause or backtrack and load them up before exposing myself to the inevitable shock-hos who are sure to be waiting for me. If there are no immediate targets in the middle, I'll fire them into the enemy rocket room to take out the respawning pursuers. Knowing your level of experience and level head, I'm betting that your accusation has a lot of merit. However if it is a clan player that you are refering to, you should take into consideration that there may be other factors involved.

this is a bogus thread... i highly doubt he was cheating and there have been times where i have done the same thing and said to myself, wow. If u base someone for cheating on one map then u havent proven to me at least that he cheats...

I haven't noticed him whine about bots and cheaters in game, so he is alright in my book... for now

Watch how this player plays when he knows there is an admin around. Can't find a hole in a donut.

Not a bogus concern, 9. But like GoW said, very hard to catch. Especially with new HACKS coming out all of the time.

Didn't sound like radar to me, sounded like a wall hack which is completely undetectable except for the behavior of the player himself which is exactly what Engine No. 9 spent much of his post describing.

It would be a disappointment if a Reg were found out, doubtless there are some who feel the need to cheat, even among friends, but it's never a happy day to uncover them.

I doubt very much that without a conclusive demo or even several demos of the player behaving in a manner that only someone who could see through walls would behave, could anybody else know for sure.

Suffice it to say that Engine No. 9 has alerted whoever they are that they have been observed and suspected and they need to cool it. Hope that's enough, but, I doubt it.

Agreed, in this case a wall hack is the most likely case. However, I lump Wall Hacks and Radar into the same category... lame-ass cheating.

I wonder if it was the same player form the ship yards map.
I had the flag, he was killed, and not close to me, I just noticed that he had been killed. So I dove off into the water to take the low route, and all of a sudden BOOM !!!! I am dead and he returned the flag.....he could not have known that quick where I was.....
Or atleast I would liek to think that. because really the only weapon on that route in the water is a MG and he likes the SR more so than any other weapon...

oh well, if a person has to cheat to be good.then they are not a person at all....they are just little attenions hounds becasue they always have to be on top !!!
