Qotsa
Queens Of The Stone Age are in town tonight. At 32, I don't go to as many concerts as I used to, but I'm stoked for this show! Of their 3 records, I like "Rated R" the best.

Concert review
Queens Of The Stone Age rocked the Twilight club in Tampa Fl. Wed. night! I remember drinking alot of beer and having a good discussion with a clear channel rep. who happened to be female and my girlfriend flipped out. Other than that, it was great. The Queens opened with "Feel Good Hit Of The Summer" from the "Rated R" album after which vocalist and guitarist Josh Homme told the crowd " We are disarming you of your drugs". Unfortunately that sentence was the only banter with the fans who had gathered on war night. The music more than made up for it with Mark Lanegan providing lead vocals on "Hangin Tree" and backup vocals on "Another Love Song". Both tunes from "Songs For The Deaf". Bassist/vocalist Nick Oliveri provided his shriek on "Quick And To The Pointless" and "You Think I Ain't Worth A Dollar But I Feel Like A Millonaire". Of course the crowd went wild when the opening chords of the radio hit "No One Knows" rang out. For the encore and The Queens did "The Lost Art Of Keeping A Secret" and "Monster In The Parasol", both favs of mine from "Rated R". I only noticed one song played from their debut album, the song "Walkin On The Sidewalks", I believe it was. Dave Grohl wasn't there. I'm not sure who played drums. Turbo Negro opened sporting a lead vocalist who was dressed like King Diamond. I thought that was pretty cool. But their brand of punk/southern rock was lost on me.
