Watch: SoundWorks Collection Featurette on Sound of 'Prometheus'

from firstshowing.net .............. While the debate rages on between those who liked Ridley Scott's Prometheus, and those who just found too many problems for the good aspects to overcome, there seems to be unanimous praise of technical aspect of the film including production design and visual effects. But perhaps one of the unsung heroes is the sound of Prometheus. It's quite an extensive look at the creation of various sounds in the film, including use some from Alien, complete with commentary from sound editors, sound designers, sound re-recording mixers, and more. Again, this just goes to show you how many people make one single film.

Here's The Sound of Prometheus featurette from SoundWorks Colletion via SlashFilm :

Quote:
A team of explorers find a clue to the origins of man on Earth, leading them on a journey to the darkest corners of the universe... There, they must fight a terrifying battle to save the future of the human race.
Prometheus is directed by legendary Oscar nominated filmmaker Ridley Scott who started it all with Alien and Blade Runner, also directing Thelma & Louise, Gladiator, Black Hawk Down, Kingdom of Heaven, American Gangster, Body of Lies and Robin Hood most recently. The screenplay was originally written by Jon Spaihts (The Darkest Hour), then updated by Damon Lindelof of "Lost" and Cowboys & Aliens, Star Trek 2.

For all the discussion about the sound, the music drowns out most of the examples.
