MotherBoard/CPU ??

I'm having my birthday coming up soon and thinking I need to get a new MB/CPU to replace my 300Mhz, (then I can play UT once again). I have been looking at combos for around 200-250$ from Asus since I heard they are rated up in the top brands.

So I was wondering if any of you had around 200$ to spend on a new MB and CPU what would you get? and are there any good reliable sites online that offer cheap prices w/o cheap merchandise?

Last time I got a machine the company was complete idiots and they are now out of business (thank god), but that machine got stolen anyhow..
