DM-TaiSheng - Beta v8d (2008/10/12)

Compatibility: latest patch
Description: Asian/Colonial influence period TDM - sprawling map
Comments: This was also a UCMP5 candidate though it wasn't as far along as Dante]I[.
Updates:

beta 8d:
  • added many, many blocking volumes
  • adjusted tiny steps near lift so easy to double-jump to (near stinger)
  • fixed lift sounds
  • tweaked terrain levels
  • removed collision on various meshes that have blocking volumes around them
  • removed dynamic shadow from water wheel

beta 7b:
  • added music
  • added various ambient sounds throughout level
  • added sounds to lift
  • added additional blocking volumes & deco to support flow in/around Udam area & jumpspot (thanks J3FFyB)
  • updated lighting in dark spots & corners (thanks Juggalo Kyle & cUnNiNg_StUnTs - let me know if it's not enough)
  • updated thighpad area - more deco
  • fixed default text on earthy-mesh (near link)
  • added 2nd bio and link gun near Udam area - bio on ground level; link on other side of bridge, opposite flak
  • moved shield belt so not visible from steps and corridor
  • added a wall/deco (near stinger) and added deco RL areas where bots were getting hung up on steps
  • other minor updates

(I know there's a couple spots needing more attention - ie: bv's, as you can get stuck...)

beta 6:
  • switched the belt with the vest; fixed wrong texture on floor where belt was also
  • moved the RL to where the Flak was (near the thighpads)
  • moved the Flak to where the sniper was
  • moved the sniper to where the upper Bio Rifle was (near jump pad)
  • centered the thighpads on the ledge where it always was - put a health vial on either side of it, took out the 5 health vials in the L-shaped corridor that led to the thighpads and replaced with a med health pack.
  • replaced the 2-board ramp with steps; near where the Udam was previously
  • fixed lighting on the bridge where the Udam is currently
  • removed floating roof meshes
  • fixed bot pathing around Udam area and elsewhere to improve bot performance
  • centered round lantern below Udam, and tweaked ground/added steps to remove double-jump to lower ledge.

beta 5:
  • Moved Udam and overpass where it laid out to be above RL location
  • Removed Invis

beta 4: incorporated suggestions in thread from beta 2 version
Lighting changes - turned into night sky
fixed issues near link and flak
changed water textures - hopefully less ugly
additional deco

have not yet moved invis from current location.

Pretty sweet level you have here. I played it in Duel, and felt alittle big, so I'm assuming that's not what it's ment for.

One thing I would change is the location of the rocket launcher and the Sniper rifle. Way to close to eachother, and the damage amp.

This bridge from the link gun over seems to be pitch black on its surface even though it's opened to the sky box from above.

I would add at least some faint blue light to the surface of that bridge.

This should be another great one, that was the only problem I found.

The "loose" plank should not be inside of a solid part of the building.

Everything else looks great. Thanks for fixing the bridge lighting and the water texture in the planter. Other than the above I think she's ready for prime time.
