Hello o/
I started to work on site that's named exactly like this subforum (pure luck actually) and now it's not that bare and you might want to check it out: http://utmapping.wikidot.com/ It's focused only to UT3 UnrealEd and level design with this editor. Plan is to have guide there, many how-tos, and in the meantime I also pulled out partial static mesh catalog: http://utmapping.wikidot.com/static-mesh-catalog Currently all HU packages are mapped, you can search them on that page by keywords and see all pictures of them. That's more than 1/3 of all static meshes. The rest is going to follow soon (shouldn't be more than month). If you like it and you think you might help (that is if you identify yourself with the mission and style and structure... of the page) I'd gladly welcome help. |

I applaud your effort to pull this information together - but it seems to me that it would be better to just add this information to the traditional Unreal Wiki: http://wiki.beyondunreal.com/wiki
There's already several 100's of hrs of work already put into documenting and supporting unreal development on that site. Good luck w/ the site - there's also this one: http://www.utmodding.com/ |

I really like the pictures of the meshes. That should be helpful if I ever get time to work on a map.

Glad you like the catalog. :-)
SonicWallpaper: I understand your point but although I use BUwiki here and there I stopped liking the structure. They now put together new version where articles for various engine versions are clearly separated, etc. I started the site without even thinking about BUwiki (although I knew it for a long time) because I wanted to start focused UT3 Level Design site (no modding, no skinning, one engine version, etc.) and I choosed wiki as mere way to do it. Ppl obviously sense the "wiki" word too much and bind it together. Yeah, I realize it will have some information like the BUwiki. But I still think it has its space to grow. That's also why I wrote the Mission of the site - I have goal I want to achieve and I would like to go there with more people (as you see there is no "Yours truly Virgo" anywhere). We'll see how it will go. :-) Thanks for the link to utmodding, I'll add it to resource list. It's obviously similarly young, wiki is very bare but there are few interesting and nice tutorials already.
