truth in playing too much

Last night, server 4, full house - mostly regs: Valhalla avatar is borking the physics in some respects to game play (things don't do the same things they used to), some of the skins look wonky and I haven't been able to hit a g0dd4mmed thing with the mini. Since I've never made it my main ambition to be technical about UT, all I can say is that I notice it. If I'm to understand it clearly, this was meant to solve the Xan/Boss skin problem. While it may have done that, it's created several other problems totally causing an imbalance in logic. That, coupled with the never ending network fissues, whining/moaning, people deliberately ruining the fun and then me freaking out and dropping silly, mouthy things I don't mean like "bot" or "cheap F@ker".

Idolt being so damned good, he doesn't even fight with you or concern himself with which relic he gets after two appear - dances right by you if yer on opposite teams - blindly blasts you from behind as though your existence were of no consequence or putting a puck right in yer face with full health/armour and his rag. If I thought he could keep his thinger in his pants, I'd double dare him to come over and pull the same **** on my computer.

Well, maybe the all-weekend-can't-kill-maim-murder-enough-marathon-binge that me and vod pulled was catching up. Blackshado was right: hang out too much and it starts to imbed itself into places it has no business.

As always though, the fun, malicious, sweet mayhem will always outway whatever is systematically fuXored. Full house, S3 games will always own. Name-mangling, intense, hard, white knuckled - even felt small glimpes of teamplay with SIAB. Imagine that. Creepy combo-blasting me off the map in Base9 and going "it wasn't me, but that was damned funny!".

Again, reverence, good karmic wishes and warm holiday squishees to admin, community and those who give a f@k.

van, no offense, but it is blaringly obvious that you dm a lot. yes you are a pretty good capper, but you let people cap right by you if you are in a dog fight with somebody else.

I know you were probably trying to give me somewhat of a compliment saying you saw me sort of work as a team, but truth is, very few worry about the team as much as i.

Sorry to hear you got the UT blues Van. I cured mine by playing on other servers where I don't have a **** ping and can actually compete, by not joining a game if its either a crap map (like most of the S1 rotation right now) or crap players (like alot of clanners and/or non regs), or by playing on S3.

Theres no better cure for anger and hate than a good 4 vs. 4 on S3 with good peeps and good pings.

oh, and before I forget: Only lesbians use the mini, real women stroke the piston. :spank: :evil:

Van, I get my share of those days where my ping sucks, my aim sucks, the servers full of whiners or hecklers etc... Take a break, you'll only get more pissed if you play pissed. At least that's what happens with me.. I'll usually stop playing for a couple of days to a week and just work on mapping here and there when it gets like that.

Oh, I finally saw that propeller trick in action on the Aerodome map. It only works on one side of the map. Switch is going to have to balance it out. That was definitely a one sided trick.

Could be me saying exactly the same...figures, since we are both mini-hos. :evil: Just finished a 2-month contract and working the last 12 days straight, so did the full weekend UT splurge like you and DV. Lotsa fun and lotsa crap. S3 defintitely rocks, or when regs take over the pubs. WHen the n00bs and DMers and cowboys populate, aargh. Lost Incinerator yesterday 5-1 or something...they had BreakDanceFighter, who ya know is going to cap if he has some support or a little luck...can't tell you how many times I cleared the enemy base and waited there to no avail for some other offensive support. Multiple messages to try to gather some offensive cohesion ("Psychoguy, tell us when you are going for the flag!", etc). With a couple minutes left, just said f@k-it and blasted my way through myself to take the flag and back home, only to have them take our flag and end in (at least) a standoff). Void and DG were on our team, props for trying...couple of unlucky razor spams got us once going in together.

Yup, Vahalla seems to account for some of the weirdness...saw multiple flagrunners who weren't carrying the flag on Bedrooms.

BDF ran it like 4 times in a row against us. I suppose one could say it isn't one sided if it was used in the other direction to get to the enemy base, giving an advantage in that direction (as well as not giving the efc an easy run home).

yesterday i tried to play on s4 for a bit, but there was all sorts of weirdness with my weapons changing and relics dropping. dunno if that was client or server stuff happening, but it sure was annoying!

I noticed "weird" skin issues last night as well. The strangest one being that frog effect. I'd see that green tinges on some skins. I'd see skin drawn-in, where i'd see the frog-suit, then the skin being drawn over it.

Jump onto the back of the plane, run up to the propeller, and the prop will kick you up onto the dirigible, run across dirigble, jump down to cap. It only works on one side though (red???). I saw it for the first time last night.

I made the mistake of using the warboss skin on S4 the other day...Next thing I knew everybody was trying to shoot me then someone finally told me my skin was the wrong color....so log off and changed skin....Warboss skin is off my list of ones to use anymore.

good honest insightful observation of yourself and our collective addiction vanessa. its so easy for that adrenaline experience to take over and become "The Thing That Matters", and on the flip it suddenly transforms into frustration/anger about when we lose a battle/game (because of the cheaters/mods/DM'ers/{insert reason here})--as if that adrenaline injection was all for naught.

thank goddess for hindsight, where we can look back at our "losses" to realize that the bittersweetness of the adrenaline comedown is only a consequence of how much damn fun we're really having for most of every game--shared with many different kinds of people from different walks of life, with this one thing in common between us.

I think the propeller trick is on both bases, it's just only one plane does it for each side... I don't remember which is which, but if it's the left plane in the blue base, it's the right plane in the red base.

Holy **** it is a game...i just noticed that. and all this time i thought i was a cool marine dude. god damn reality checks.

and the glitch with the planes only works online, and seems to need a full server to work at full power. i've noticed that the same glitch which i noticed on the fixtures in poolstone does not work offline, neither did the plane trick. and when aerodome came up later with about a half full server, i got some height but not like we were earlier. (enough to make the wings on the red side on a perfect jump, but not nearly enough to hit the roof like we were with the server full)

van is a flag-runnin-ho that's a constant threat and full of O-damage and all about teamplay, calling her a DMer is laughable. eliminating an oncoming force for opposition control is not only smart, but a necessity in CTF. if ya saw her passby a EFC, i'd strongly suggest it was not her normal mode of operation as i'd also suggest i'm not the only one that knows how she plays the game and plays it well. in relationship, sometimes certain people just HAVE to die, it matters not what goes on around you, you just have to eliminate them, take them down, end the killing spree, double-check their mouthy drama, force them to redirect their next attack or escape plans, jeezzz, do i really have to explain this?... ahh, no... with that said, loins and idol must die!

SIAB, maybe, just maybe people have overlooked your commitment to teamplay inre your much more prevalent bitching to and at your teams. you were recently complimented on your recent change of behavior on s3 when you not only played smart and collaboratively but also had fun with your team even in the stress of a 51 minute battle. for f@k's sake, learn some grace and learn to take a compliment... no one wants to bicker with you here or on s3.

while i'm at it, wtf is with the anti-relics comments of late? fyi younger-types, this historically is a relics server-based UT community, there are many other options for you disgruntled *purists* to happily explore in the UTverse, go forth. the SLV server may not be populated constantly, but it's still very much appreciated by many killerz from UM or as a change of pace for us all... it's a fun variation. again, you don't have to play it, it does require YOU to connect to the server... hmmm, or maybe hoggy finally has unleashed that rumored SLVirus upon us all!

the vahalla thinger IS affecting gameplay, simple as that. while it may be an interesting mod with good intentions, many are experiencing strange anomallies and commenting about them during games and in the forums. i'd still suggest its' implementation be reconsidered to lower the oddities we all have while running UTpurehell, but if admin see not fit to do that, please please keep that pos off s3. i will give kindness credit though, in all my days in the playground, i don't recall anyone fronting a crusade like he did for vahalla... commitment to a cause, indeed. pesky and persistent, now die you wheelchair drivin' shock-ho!

hmm... just when i thought it wasn't going to get ugly. i pm'd van about this, apparently she told you dv and now you bring it back up.

Anyway, truth is, you and Van do dm quite a bit. You are both decent players yes, but you are easily fooled, tricked, and outplayed by better players. No van did not compliment me, the way she put it was derrogatory, which is fine, we both know we don't get along. Van does run flags a lot, which is good, but kobe ran flags a lot as well. No I am not saying Van is like Kobe, but all Kobe could do is run the flag, Van is similar. When there is no flag to take, Van runs around like a chicken with her head chopped off.

I know everybody will hate me now for saying all this. Many respect Van as being a good player, which she is, but what limits her from being a great player is just shear game smarts. Many weaker players won't know the difference... but when it is a server full of the greats, her presence is felt A LOT less.

Well, arguing is fun. I don't start an argument just to start an argument though. You and Van, and others, dislike me mostly because I express my loathing of idiot/selfish players in the middle of games. I also express my disatisfication of how the mapping world has gotten into a rut that it seems it will never get out of.

If I see a player I don't like, I let them know why I don't like them. If they camp, I tell them I think it is retarded to camp. If they snipe I tell them it is retarded to snipe. If a mapper creates 9 cube ctf maps and thinks they are contributing to the mapping community I tell them they are not. This is a public server yes, I cannot expect people to play as a well-oiled machine... but people cannot expect me to not try to get people to play as a well-oiled machine.

Some don't listen to me because I am harsh, others like my bluntness. Yes, you did compliment my playing in the cola wars thread, thank you for that. My attitude came from seeing Van so called compliment (now please, it was not a compliment, it was an attack). She implied that I don't work as a teamplayer normally. That is fine, she doesn't have the game intelligence to see the big picture, 90% here don't. She probably didn't notice that probably every cap she had in cola wars wouldn't have happened if it wasn't for me. Certain players out there, freakish, idol, etc. are in an entirely different battle in the games than you and van are. I am an arrogant ass for saying such a thing... so be it.
