Thanks for an awesome review, Idle! To tell the truth, I didn't know about half those tricks at the bottom...lol

All I knew was you could piston jump up from the midfield beams. Now I'm going to have to try those! :p

Ok, um... i was going to comment about the map review when i saw the screens that it could no way be worth a 76 with the bland look it had. Since I hadn't played it i figured maybe it is was just extremely fun so it could perhaps make the 76 mark to make up for the aesthetics.

Well... just played it on S3 and... nope, it ins't a 76, more like sub 50 IMO.

This map plays almost as bad as it looks. Cleared out the server when it came up. Probably a 40 something in my book.

I've played this a dozen times on #3... it NEVER cleared the server... it received numerous compliments.... it was fun everytime....

I played the map only once, yes, this may not be best to judge a map after one time playing it. But hey, it does pretty much suck. How bad it sucks is something i could find after playing it awhile, but truth is, retribution is yet another map to be filed under my "do not play" list.

I know I am picky, and I seem to bitch about the reviews a lot lately, well, I think many of the reviews lately have been off. It sounds worse than it is because I usually only say when I disagree with a review, I don't really ever chime in and say how much I liked a review.

I don't see how it could have received many compliments... then again phalanx claims andaction had some compliments ;)

Hey Squirrel, how many people were on the server when you played this? If the server cleared out, then that means there were likely very few people, and as such, the map would be pretty much empty. In case you hadn't noticed, Retribution is a big level, and without a playerload to match, it doesn't play particularly well.

it is a good level, and everyone i've talked to that has played it online said it played great. this includes nearly all of our reviewers.

Well there were 6 or 7 on... and to me it already felt cramped. It was probably just do to some snags in the flow. The 6 or 7 quickly turned into everyone bitching, then everbody left cept me and one other guy, then I quit, then I assume the remaining player quit.

I won't name names of who was on or not because they probably don't want to be brought into this, but the players on at the time were a good mix of good players, good mappers, and good people. I said in game that I think the map got about an 80 on a review, and they didn't believe me.

Well, guess you either love it or hate it... we all know where I stand ;)
