Nice-

n00b question... do you texture it in Maya or in Ued?

I'm making an uninformed guess here, but I can't see how texturing something in UEd would be anything but insanely stupid.

WOAH! Wait, I forgot this is the Unreal Gaming Community, and we do insanely stupid things all the ****ing time. I'd hope Rachel textured that in max. I got nothin'.

(I had a bad night last night, hence the pessimism, sorry.)

I suppose my main complaint with all your meshes I've seen so far, is that they're too simple. They're far better than really anything else I've seen, so don't take that the wrong way.

Too simple? How complicated do you want a light fixture to be? I wouldn't exactly call this one (http://angelmapper.com/Thalassia2k3pic1.jpg) "too simple" either

You did take it the wrong way, I'm not going to answer that question. All it would further is the path of my foot into my mouth. Ignore this please, I don't feel like arguing right now.

Quality mesh Angle.

What's all this moaning about Texturing in UnrealED? If you texture in UnrealED you can change the texture easily in UnrealED. Epic lets you change all the textures of all there static Mesh's.
If you texture in Maya/Max/Lightwave can you still change the texture in UnrealED?

Anyway keep up the good work.

Yep: just change the tex in the material setting of the static mesh properties...

That's changing a texture, it wouldn't unwrap the thing.

Would it?

I gotta get this game.

Yeah it really depends on how the mesh's uv's were layed out. If they were just layed out slapped over a simple tiling texture, then yeah you can change the texture. If they were done with more care ( ;) ) without tiling, you can't just swap out the texture, you'd have to paint a new one using the old one as a guide to see how they were layed out.

It's particularly useful for base, totally squarish, texs... :D

Of course, for more complex prefabs such as the Anubis statue, it's more complex but the trick of Dan will work very properly IMO... ;)
