I need a little help on how to aim better.
Does it matter which aim icon you use?
Should I have my mouse set for more or less movement? I think it is on 3 or 4 as of now.

Thanks

Pick a color that most likely isn't on the map. Purple or Lavender imo.

I use the u-with-a-dot-in-it. I think it gives the accuracy of the dot plus it's harder to lose.

I use 6 for mouse sensitivity, depends on the player really. I just don't like having to pick up my mouse often when I do a 180, with sensitivity at 6, i get a lot of movement out of it.

I think mouse sensitivity might be dependant on the mouse. I have mine set to 3, and I can comfortably spin 180 degrees from the middle of my mouse pad to the end ( without going off at all, still about a centimeter away from the edge ). I have my crosshair as a green dot. It's always in the center, so I don't tend to loose track of it. :) As for sensitivity and it effecting your aim, it's really a matter of what feels comfortable to you, so you're better off experimenting with different sensitivities and try to see how it's effecting your aim.

agree with what FBmachine said

well to improve your gaming, you certainly have to spectate other player's play. Learn their tactics, how they cap, backup, defend, etc.

one tip: always be alert. Don't always walk in straight lines and not looking at your back. Chances are you'll get shock-h0-ed by shock whores like Sasquatch. or inky binky.

Thx for the info I'll be trying new settings and colors this whole week to see which helps.

I have my sensitivity turned up to 13.0 with my mouse and I use an animated target.. It's two circles, one moving clockwise and one moving counterclockwise, as I find the other "dot-like" targets too hard to distinguish amidst the missles and the sl's and the sho-ho's and the flak.. god the flak.. and the green finger of god and people's head's blowing up.. and...

I've been using the Deathdot for a long time. And I really like it, I prefer the 'o' over the '.' with a yellow color, it's sharp and accurate.

Check it out.

Mouse on 6.00 and dot for a reticle (white).

Were you the same kancer I shot in the back the other night. Somebody (in Atomic Islands 3) named kancer, was up on the tower sniping away. I walked right up to him and emptied the mini into his back. He started yelling and screaming about getting shot in the back. Was that you?

We hunt snipers here.

No was not me I would never get mad if I get a walk up unload on me. When you snipe you pay a price.

I use the cross with the double lines for a reticle.

As for mouse, mine is set about 8.

What I suggest is gradually increasing the sensitivity. Maybe a full point every week. My goal was to get to the point where I could make a full 180degree turn with minimal hand movement. You don't want to have to move the mouse so much that midway through your turn you're in danger of going off the mousepad. After your sensitivity passes 5.00 or so, you will find that you can make minimal hand movements (to the naked eye your hand would appear completely still) and move the mouse as precise as ever.

Mouse sensitivity depends on the mouse, the OS, the mouse pad, etc. Using someone elses numbers won't get you anywhere.

In Windows I had my mouse set to 2.88. I just pulled that number out of my ass and liked the feel of it. In Linux now I have my mouse at 7.56. The second decimal is negligible and, to an extent, so is the first. I like it where I can go to any spot on the screen without having to move my wrist. But I tend to move and lift my mouse a lot in general play.

It's a comfort thing. You just have to find what you are comfortable with. I've been from 2.5 up to 17. Do you want little hand movement or a lot? How fast to you want to be able to do a 180? 360? The crosshair is the same thing. I used to use the white soft right angle. Now I like an orange dot better, but I do lose it on brighter maps...

You might try a different name. :)

Yeah, I agree.. Loose the name.. My father just recently passed from cancer. And while I get a little tinge of amusement at the message, " You killed Kancer", it's always tainted by the message, however infrequent (;P), " You were killed by Kancer". Bitter sweet.. How about you pick an affliction that's extinct or one that claims far less lives, which is in no way an insinuated reflection of your performance.. *cough*

This post has been re edit
I said a few things that were not nice.
Cane a name is just a name.
Please do not take the name the wrong way.
The Name is just a zodiac sign in my eyes.
Can't change the world but I can redo a bad post reply

I said change your name 'cuz there is a jerk playing with the name "Cancer" and "Kancer". When I see that name, I think that the guy is a team-switching a$$, so I will always try to hunt him/her down.

Leave Cane alone...really lame comparison. He didn't say the name pissed him off; definitely not your 'sign'.

So keep the name, nobody really cares - but if I were you, I would look for the jerk that occasionally uses the name.

My post is about trying to get better. Can the last four post be moved to a B**ch and Whine or a Rant and Flame
section?

Don't worry keeping the name

Kancer, I've speced you a couple of times and one suggestion I'd give you is to learn to dodge more efficiently and use your translocator more.

You can move faster by dodging around corners and forward dodging - especially if you have the flag. It also makes you a bit more elusive when you're in a 1 on 1 battle.

Not directed specifically at you, but I'm amazed at the number of players who try to run after a flag carrier who has the speed relic. The tl is your friend! Learn to exploit its strengths.

If that isn't you, fine.

If it is, then IMO, you should stop spamming and take all the advice on gameplay everyone is talking about.

Nobody really flamed you, but we can if you are a masochist :D

At least your name isn't Smallpox, MS or AIDS...

Too bad your not a Gemini, cuz it sounds cooler.
