Ok starting to see a bit more talky talk in the server..

Sigh.. I have NO idea how big a newbie to online games in general or just any sort of competition one has to be not to already know this....

Ok but you n00bs out there.... You have to win or at lest STOMP the guy down THEN talk the smack..

Other wise ya look like Mitch Green after that one Tyson street fight.. (go look that up if ya have no idea what I'm talking about)

but come one now.. How many times can one post in game how "--insert wepon here-- is weak" or whatever as you have like 12 kills and your team is getting stomped down.. Now I not a big fan of talking smack in the first place so ya almost never seem be call people lame and so on.. but geeeeesh how many times can a shockwhore kill ya as you whine that "anyone can do that" and spray mini gun all over the place before it starts to look like your just a total n00b?

At least when the better player whine and moan it carries some weight.. So again.. "Win or at least beat down, THEN talk" Or even better yet.. STFU and play..

I would rant about lamers jumping teams to "lets just end it" but maybe just one rant per a post? Errrr ok maybe not.. Look if you want it to be over, sit on the team, do nothing and end it.. CHEAP as hell to jump to the team so it like 4+ more player and go "I just want it over". Well then do nothing and take the loss ya lamer.. Not jump to get "a win" lamer

This post comes from a guy in a game tonight going "OWNED" as he won then as soon he had to get past "DeadLamb" D for his caps being I was not on his team the next level is was all about how he WOULD own with out the shock.. geeeee sorry it's part of the game n00b.. No point to mention names.. heh

I hear ya DL. Lots of big mouthed n00bs lately that don't have the first clue of how to play CTF.

I be n00b!

But you know what ends all that :P

A super beat down of an 0-6 score.

Then getting a god-like and scoring the most points outta everyone in that game AND scoring most of the caps.

That'll shut just about anyone up.

Then again he'll just bitch and call you a lamer :P or better yet a cheater.

Hehe, when I get talked at, I play better. I join servers where #1 will say "Switch is a fag" after just a few minutes (when I'm warming up and getting spammed) or "I OWN JOO" or "you're my BITCH SWITCH!" at the end of the match.

GRRRRRRRRRRRRR!

Of course, I take it personally, and next game, I hunt the mother down, and wint the match.

Then, when I'm on top and they're like #3 on opposite team, that's when I say: "I am nobody's bitch."

Of course, just the other day, I got trounced by a regular. I forget who. Then I trounced him back, and gave the standard malevoice1's "You like that?" Well, he trounced me back again and typed something that included calling me "bitch." Ha! I played really well the next match! I ended up winning and said: "Thanks for pissin' me off. It made me play better. Got any other names for me?"

Then he said "that's a bind I made." Well, that's not as personal, then, as when you type it in. So no hard feelings, who ever you are, and great playing.

Just do NOT call me a bitch! Unless you want me to win :)

This is something that bugs me, and is somewhat related... There's one guy out there I've seen that wasn't even good, and he told somebody ( I think Airlea ) to leave. Then there is Engine No. 9 always saying "everyone under 10 points leave". Engine No. 9 is decent, but the attitude has to go, especially since he's not that great to be telling people to leave for lack of skill. People like this really piss me off, I mean, how are these people going to get better if they're told to leave on a public server? And I'm sure it takes away from their fun being told they suck, so we might lose future regs that might turn out to be fun to play with. I say whenever one of you regs see someone acting like this, hunt them down repeatedly and humble them until THEY leave.

I absolutely agree with everything you've just said. I mean, we were all n00bs once, right? However, you must define the term "n00b."

IMHO, a good n00b is one that tries to learn by reading the boot camp forums, asking for advice, and learning from their mistakes. I've seen many a so-called regs today who were all n00bs once, and played with n00b-like actions. Through their hunger and willingness to learn they have greatly accelled their skills and overall playing abilities. The sad thing about it is, I find myself today being owned by half of these once-were-n00bs.

Now on the other hand, what is a bad n00b? Let's see (keep in mind any single one of these traits does not automatically qualify you as being a n00b).

- Plays deathmatch instead of CTF. For example, flag is gone but they're still running around shooting anything that moves.

- Totally unaware of their surroundings. For example, runs in front of FC and steals ammo, health, and armor. Another example, when FC drops flag right in front of them, instead of picking up the flag, they continue their DM tactics, oblivious to what had just happened.

- "I wanna be a l33t sniper" attitude. You know who these guys are. Every opportunity they get, they find a dark corner or ledge and pull out the sniper rifle. They can give a rats a$$ about where any flag is.

- Never listens to anything anyone says. You don't have to listen to me, but when the other team has just scored 3 fast points, and you're still playing deathmatch at the center....uh, Defense please?

I can go on and on with the list. This topic has been brought up thousands of times already. The bottom line is, if you're not trying to play CTF and improving your skills at it, then you're just taking up space.

Well, I've been playing for 2-3 months now, and I found that all the advice that was given in Boot Camp and from regs was bang on.

Of course, pissing off my fellow n00bs is sooo much fun. And regs too, since they probably know I'm a n00b and get real pissed off when I frag them or cap or whatever.

Its the little things that make this game so much fun.

I'm guilty of that too. Frustration of the game when 20 minutes have passed and 75% of my team has less than 10.

Not to say its right. But after several blowouts in a row, they do need to leave.

Granted, if everyone was good, I would look worser (yes, I said worser). hehe

I usually have some good numbers, but on some maps I'm fighting to stay above 0. Any of these maps where you fall off into space or something like that. Many times I wind up in the negative numbers. Strangely enough I always did well in 2 boxes full of lava.
