Looking at some of the images I have seen for UT2K3, I think the graphics have done a major jump. The maps should be way cool compared to even the cools ones we use now. Has anyone seen or heard about the new editing tool for maps? I have heard they made it easier.

Guess the topic should be "Map graphics look fab-ricated"
Every thing is made from "building blocks" called prefabs (short for prefabrications) that are rotated, skinned (textured), and placed in different matters. The editor will come with a bunch of these "blocks" so expect the first rounds of custom maps to have a similar look (kind of like how a lot of maps use SGtech1 textures, nowadays.)
More ambitious mappers will be able to use 3D modeling programs to create their own "blocks" and then import them into their maps.

The only prob with that for us "hobby" map-makers is a lack of funds to buy 3D design progz... anyone know of a good prog to make 3D stuff that can be saved in popular formats (ie, 3ds,iwo,obj) that is FREE? Im NOT talking warez, just free progz.... thanks!
