Favorite Board?

I was wondering what is everyone's favorite board? mine is valley of giants. i like the big open area. gives me lots of room to cause chaos :lol: what about all you out there?

I like Whiner maps.. If at least three people don't WHINE during a match on a map because they're a) lost, b) sux0r, c) can't find the flag, and d) can't find thier a$$ with both hands, then it's not a good enuff map..

The top three bring out the bigtime whiners.. The last will bring out a whiner or two and sometimes hit three..

CTF-Aquamarina X32 is an awesome map but, most servers can't even run it.. 16mb map... totally awesome..

Hmm, Hoggy never has put Ezsmerhim on the rotation.. Hmm.. Me thinks me needs to send him another reminder..

ya ive seen many people complain about crap while playing. i could name some players that piss me off but i wont... hahahaha. there are some occasions when im playing a map for the first time and i cant find my way back... i just follow the opposing team towards my base w/o killing them. works a lot. most people when running towards the opposing base never look back to see whats behind them

I gotta like 2x4's myself.. a little easier to swing than a 4x4.

As far as maps, I like them. I do get tired of some after playing them WAY too much *cough*Colawars*cough*, but otherwise I like them.

I'm most impressed by the HUGE maps, like Zeitkind, Shadar, Realm, SpiritualWorlds, and the other big ones. However, gameplay on those is often slow hide-n-seek games, which gets old despite the eye candy.

The spam maps (Thorns, Theatrum, wootabulous, etc) are annoying because I die too fast to finish my shock combos 8)

So, for general gameplay, I like the medium-size maps the best, like AnthonyB's Armada, the Burgerwars maps, DiePiggyPiggy, Town, almost all the Ghandi maps, and BadNeighbors2.

I think Burger wars is played out and I hate the jet maps. People just circle around shooting unlimited rockets where people re-spawn just my .02

i agree with the maps with the jets. it gets real annoying when someone just flies back and forth killing you constantly. unfortunately there are many people on there trying to score frags instead of flags :evil:

I can't stand the jet maps either..especially arctic jets 3..get the right people in there and they'll camp your snipe-camp your spawn point and with the enhanced sniper rifle..ugh. :evil:

Yellow snow is basty.. Dirty snow is everywhere from the car exhausts and all.. remember, when it snows up here, it doesn't just go away in a few days.. It stays for like 6 months..

I don't think mappers need to assume people are dumb. Sure, it's a safe assumption, but IF the point of UT is to have FUN, then mappers should make whatever they think would be fun. Fun of course is subjective, so we don't all need to agree on which maps are fun.

So, my opinion is that it is not the map's fault that people are lame, nor is it the map's fault that people can't find the flag... or the flag carrier. (A fact which I imagine Freakish is greatful for at times 8) )

I like the medium sized and smaller ones. I don't really care for the ones with the mixed low grav/reg grav, or the extremely big ones. Guess I like a faster gameplay. Actually I am rather tired of (cough) colawars, but lately seems like ever time I'm on a server, the next map is always Bad Neighbors v2-I am really tired of that map-sorry if that offends anyone :D

Spam maps are my second biggest peeve (all the Jets maps fit in this category too i think). Any map where i can die 5-10 times in a row before I even have a decent weapon (or can even take more than 3 steps) usually makes me (bring up console) EXIT if there are no flag caps within the first few minutes.

My first peeve is the levels that get assigned as default after a crash. I think this weekend I played the one with the two rooms of concentric circles about 20 times. What amazed me is that I saw several people VOTE FOR IT AND WIN several times and even say yay!

There are only about three things that can annoy me with the UT environment. Spammer maps such as the Jet maps, continually getting crushed by a numerically superior force, (who refuse to balance things out), and spammer players. None of these things are very common on Hoggy's server which is why I am always here. Many thanks to all those who work to make this possible.

Just don't like playing the same mpas again and agin though. Once a while a ago, we voted for several maps, and then when the server loads the next match, it loads back DiePiggyPiggy. Got a little bit lame.

hehe...when the server dies it should randomly select a new starter map...maybe eventually (on busy nights) one could play every map without ever voting for one.
