View Full Version : Cant find surfacefluidinfo in Unrealed 3.0

Hi all,

I want to ad water to my level and i found a tutorial to help me do just that!

however, its never that simple... something is always has to go wrong.

Basically, all the tutorials ive seen talk about adding a fluidsurfaceinfo to give your water that extra bit of visual dazzle.

So I open up my generic browser, expand "Info" and all I can find is the following
CoverGroup
+FogVolumeDensityInfo
HeightFog
Route
Terrain
WindDirectionalSource

So as you can see... no fluidsurfaceinfo here.

Do I have a cut down version of unrealed 3.0 or something?
I got the editor free with the game.

Can someone help me out here... I need to find this fluidsurfaceinfo :(

UnrealEd 3.0 = Unreal Tournament 2004, you're just reading the wrong tutorial. :)

I see...

So would you happen to know if fluidsurfaceinfo is in my unrealed?
would i also be correct in assuming that my version of unrealed (for unreal 3) is unrealed 4.0?

also if fluidsurfaceinfo is not in my unrealed, what is it's equivelant?

They stopped numbering the UnrealEds, now it's just "The Unreal Editor for Unreal Engine 3". Not sure how fluid works in this one.

Ahh I see.

Do you know any tutorial sites where i can find out about fluidsurfaceinfo?
Ive been looking everywhere and it seems a load of people are stuck in the same boat.

I really dont want to have to wait for the book :(

Maybe 3D Buzz has a tutorial on it. Maybe fluid surfaces like that don't exist anymore. No idea. :scratch:

open a stock map with water click the water surface and check it's properties. Do it in several maps to see the commonly used attributes.

This is always the first thing I do when trying to figure something out. Then I go to UDN, then I go to UnrealWiki, then I go to a forum. Then I go to #unrealed on quakenet when I'm in a real hurry.

Where can I find these stock maps?

again, im still a noob and learning so please elaborate a bit clearer :)

In UT3 it's done with a UTwaterVolume and a postprocess volume.

If you still care to know where the stock maps are, they are in hidden in:

\unreal tournament 3\UTGame\CookedPC\Private\Maps

If you get stuck again with something have another look at Hourences' site. He awnsers many of those little questions.

That hourences is one hell of a site!

I havent found anything about vertecies in water geometry actually moving, but ive found out hell of a lot more!
