Alrighty, I installed UT3 & everything worked fine. I installed the latest patch, still no probs. Well today for no reason, it won't work! It loads up, plays the commercials, I go to play a game & right when it should start after the loading page it gives me an error & shuts down. I get a second error & send it too. Should I get the details of the error report? The info makes no sense to me & what I really don't understand is what is different from yesterday & today? I haven't even touched this computer since the last game yesterday till I tried to play today??? It makes no sense?! I DL'd the latest drivers for my viddy card but it didn't change a thing. Please, any help is greatly appreciated!

Thanks in advance,
Paco)))

I probably wouldnt be able to help you even with all the necessary information, but there are more experienced people here who can help IF YOU GIVE THEM SOMETHING TO ANALYSE :) So get those error reports and attach/paste them to the thread. Its a bit unreasonable to expect an answer with so little to go on.

Well, I did a little research between working & it's the same error a LOT of people have gotten. It's the kernel32.dll error. The thing that confuses me is that it was working fine yesterday so I just don't know...I'm reinstalling it right now since I tried the other "fixes" & if I can finish before a client stops by I'll post my results asap.

Thanks,

Well, I did a full re-install & it seems to be fine now, but for how long...I still can't figure out why it just decided to stop working before?

Thanks for letting me vent,

Something similiar happened me once. Whenever you experience issues with UT3 it's generaly a good idea to delete (and thus resetting) the .ini files in the Config folder found in the UT3 folder in my documents --> my games.

Well, it's happening again...I might try doing what you said but I want to make sure I don't delete anything that's important. Like I said, I'm not too comfortable with a computer when it comes to deleting files. I've done bad things before:moreconf: Anyway, here's my specs incase there's some clue there as to why this is happening. I mean, it's playing great for a few games then BAM, crashes when I'm starting a new one. This last time though it crashed as soon as the game started so I restarted a new game on a different map & it played for awhile but I was getting serious lag and a lot of distortion on the screen & then it crashed.

Windows XP, Version 5.1.2600

First thing to eliminate is hardware issues, primarily temperature and psu related issues.

Worth noting is that there was an Windows Update for DirectX 9.0c within the last week. (That's correct; no major version change.) I have yet to hear about widespread issues on it, but considering it went largely unnoticed, maybe it's just a matter of time before reports become common?
Still, keep up on the troubleshooting. It's the surest path to a solution.

Actually that directx update has been available for download directly from MS's directx site for a few months. Several people in the Unreal3 forums seem to have tried it without noticing any real changes, and there's little word on what was updated. Personally I suspect a lot of the changes have to do with the more advanced video & drm features that MS has been pushing to Vista & Win media center.
