Today, Midway and Epic Games announce that downloadable content for the award-winning first-person shooter, Unreal Tournament 3, is now available for PlayStation 3 and PC. The downloadable content consists of three deadly arenas: Morbias, Facing Worlds and Searchlight.
These downloads, which are free to all owners of Unreal Tournament 3, mark the latest achievement in providing the gaming community with unrivaled mods and superior experiences through the most recent installment in the Unreal Tournament franchise. While Unreal Tournament 3 shipped with 40 maps, and hundreds of user-created mods have been published since the game’s release, Midway and Epic are committed to providing fans with even more official content to further extend enjoyment of the game.
Morbias is the deathmatch arena that started it all, perfectly suited for anything from small intense duels to chaotic free-for-all matches. The Unreal Tournament classic, Facing Worlds was one of the most played maps in gaming history. This beloved sniper map makes its return alongside an intricate new capture the flag map, Searchlight, designed for both z-axis rooftop runs and strategic indoor gameplay. Returning classics and fresh new designs let you experience Unreal gaming like never before.

So it's just 3 new maps?
:claps:Got it in one!! :D
Kidding. Yeah, just three. Been goofing around with them a bit... Nicely, done, they seem. My guess? They shoulda been in the game release, but weren't finished... Just like the rest of the game.
I also wish they would finish fixing the game before they release stuff like this, but I have to admit, it's most likely a separate team (mappers versus coders).
Anywho. More maps ain't too shabby, especially Searchlight.
Yea, I think I'd rather have a 1.3 patch and then these bonus maps but whatever

I like the maps alot...
But I have to be an ingrate and say that bonus packs in the past (ut99, 2k4) contained significantly more content than just 3 maps.... this is like a tease!
I would have preferred patch 1.3, more specifically the ability to bind commands. This is my biggest pet peeve, hearing bots give commands or location status, yet not being able to use it myself when playing with teammates... cmon Epic!

We're getting somewhere now.. up to 8 CTF's. :)
*Played them all. Morphias is fun, seems much more open than the original, but 1. Where are my shock rifles? and 2. Where is my big trap door of doom?
Face is face, it was best and always will be best in UT99, in this version I found that bots would shoot at you with their enforcers when they spawned and you were up sniping.
I quite like searchlight, it has plenty of z-axis and turned out surprisingly fun. Probably the better map in this pack.

Finally more CTF. Searchlight is great for intense gameplay, and face, being my fave level of all previous games, i am very pleased its in UT3

I think you're confusing with DM-Fractal, which was in the original UT too.
3 maps are kind of few, but considering the time required to create a map and the filesize of them (using mostly stock assets they're 160 MB!) I'm not sad at all of having so few new maps. It was a good idea having 2 more CTFs, I wish there were some more proper Duel maps though.
Face is a bit better than the UT one (scaling feels a bit more right and bots play better) but I never enjoyed such camping maps.
Morbias is the usual tiny arena map good for nothing but mindless fragging... if at least they added some health this time.
SearchLight is a surprisingly nice map, from what I saw it has a good flow and a good amount of Z-Axis, although it seems a bit too sniper-friendly in some places for my taste.
A decent pack overall, although I'm not a fan of the remakes of rusty UT maps.

Fractal was a UT remake/beefup of Morbias - which was an original Unreal Deathmatch map.

Searchlight was a bit too big for my tastes, gameplay seems to favor larger servers much like Leviathan.
Face was nice except the scaling feels off to me due to the distance between 2 towers being dramatically shorter than I would have expected from their size, or indeed compared to the UT2k4 & UT99 versions.

Ok after replaying them a few times, Searchlight isn't really all that big it just has a large number of paths for smaller player counts. & Face actually feels proportionate from the ground, however viewed from the top of the towers it somehow feels half the distance...?
It's funny in past UT's CTF-Face was overwhelmingly played on dedicated Face servers to the point where I kind of avoided it. In UT3 things are moving at such a snail's pace for the community it actually feels GOOD to see FacingWorlds show up in the maplist.

I'm sorry to say I think that's incorrect - if it were you'd imagine they'd be finished by now.
e.g. Morbias has a whole load of "open air" that you can stand on - spoils an otherwise excellent Deathmatch arena.

I've noticed a lot of inconsistencies with UT3's map collision in general. Suspense is a perfect example, as there are plenty of edges of buildings that you could potentially stand on. However, you can only stand on some of them. There is no indication for which areas you can stand on, and which areas you can't. That is incredibly ambiguous and poor map design in an otherwise good map.
Sorry, didn't mean to turn this into another UT3 rant, but so much about the game bugs me.

123Mb or so, it's available on the unrealtournament website (or at least the UT3 specific one) and mirrors are listed in the epic forums for Ut3:
