Description: Once the battleground of the infamous Matrix duel between Neo and Agent Smith(s), tournament warriors have since invaded and taken over this hallowed court. Even the Oracle hesitates to venture here anymore. When your battle-weary, blood-soaked body can no longer endure the pain, visit the train station for a much needed Power-Up...but be careful...the Trainman is still angry.

This is my second map, my first for UT3. It started out being a test map so I could familiarize myself with the new Editor and try things out. It grew from there. I still don't fully get a lot of UT3's sub-editors. i.e.. Kismet, Cascade, etc. This will in all likelyhood be my last map. I've enjoyed it. This map was made on a Mac Pro 2.66 Ghz with Windows XP. The Unreal Ed III app was VERY touchy and apt to crash often. It took a while to learn to "get along" with it. Frequent PC restarts were routine. Save. Save. Save.

This map is based on the Courtyard fight scene between Neo and the dozens of cloned Agent Smith's in the Matrix Reloaded movie and the Mobil Avenue Train Station scene in the Matrix Revolutions movie. Of course I have taken the liberty to make a few minor altercations for the sake of gameflow and deco, but otherwise it holds pretty true to the movie sets layout.

....My map fails to load with an error:"Downloading package Engine Volumetrics failed: Err. deplac. file"...


****Re-installed UT3 and patches....did not get error.****

This post is to verify an update to v1.1 for the DM-NeoSmithCourtYard map.

Regardless of the "Date Added" displayed, downloading from this link is the newest version. You can verify this by comparing the ReadMe file, included in the .zip, to the following new info:

REVISION DATE...................04/16/08

VERSION.............................1.1 (Prior versions: 1.00)
BUILD/BURN ERRORS..........0/0-PC

Reason for Revision: Bug report regarding Server error related to Engine Volumetrics package failing to load.
Solution: Applied UT3_Patch1.2 and recooked.

Other Revisions this version:
-Revised ReadMe file for corrections to: map file placement, ...Matrix code..., ....reference to "last map", and to update update info.
-Added 4 more Player starts to center area of courtyard per request.
-Fixed Soundtrack from using random pitch modulation parameters. (I HATED the slooooowww beat....the fast one was OK though)
-Adjusted WorldInfo Reverb Fade Time.
-Minor Texture/Static Mesh tweaks and alignment.

:D :D After several days and nights of extensive testing, I believe I can say that this version should work OK now on a Server. (If my fresh cook didn't do anything wrong.) I just finished testing it a while ago with Badtrip on his Clan's server. It worked just fine and I got my butt kicked. Ha! :o

The problem was the soundCue used on the Train (InterpActor). Once I re-referenced the InterpActor's parameter to a soundCue that I had made, from a sound duplicated to my map package, it worked OK. :scratch:

I'll provide more detail if requested. :D

I will also start on a PS3 version very soon.
