i know how to creat the materials and oll that....
buti know know hot to create detail textures
you know the purple texture which goes in the normal slot on your material editor


I have photoshop........ please any replies will be a great help thanks

If you grab the DDS plug in for Photoshop, it's easy as pie:)

You open the texture, go filters drop down and right at the bottom will be a new option "Nvidia tools". Click normal map. It'll ask a few options, i leave everything as default and click OK, wham......image is converted to a normal map.
Save and import :)

You don't get very well defined normal maps with only that filter. You get best results from rendering one from a highpoly model. But since I don't think you want to do that, you should try Crazy bump:
