While i'm sure there is a similar thread out there... I couldn't for the life of me find it :/
so I suppose i'll just ask here, how well will these specs run UT3?
I'm about to get a laptop and while I don't need it to be a top of the range gaming machine I would like it to run UT3, Crysis and CoD4 reasonably well. So here are the specs:
PROCESSOR: Intel Core Duo T7200 (2.0GHz)
OS: XP
MEMORY: 2048 MB RAM
HDD: 160GB
VIDEO CARD: 256MB DDR3 nVidia GeForce Go 7900
any replies are much appreciated
(if anyone could reply asap i would be forever in your debt as the price I have been given for this rig goes up tomorrow at the end of the jan sales :D)

My specs are, if I remember correctly, +0.0R -0.5L

then I recommend laser treatment in the left XD (but not with the shock rifle)
-5.25 in both for me :/
anyhoo... possibly a bad choice for the topic title... "specifications thread" might have been better :P

My rig was pretty similar to that before upgrading to a 8800GT. It could handle Gears and UT3 okay at medium/low details. Crysis was a no go.

I can run UT3 on detail level 4 @ 1440*900 with out a problem.
When I set the detail level to 5 my system can't run the game smoothly. The fps drop when I see more than 3+ players shooting. The fps will get a bit higher after that drop. But it doesn't run as smooth as detail level 4.
From my x-fire profile.

With specs like that, you'll probably get mid details on UT3 at about 40 fps. A better video card will get you better results, and making sure you have fast FSB/RAM will also help out.

The trouble is that a notebook is never nearly as good as a desktop at comparable prices. That's why I use my desktop for gaming, my 2nd (ancient) desktop for print- and fileserver stuff and the likes, the third (last-century) desktop not at all and the notebook only for working :)
What I wanted to say, if you want a game machine, get one with a "real" graphics card - the Go7900 only gets you so far, and even the best mobile graphics card have nowhere near the power of an 8800 series card.

Yes laptops can not get anywhere near desktops power, i mean everything is smaller to fit the smaller case, and those good grapic cards are nearing the size of a laptop.
Sorry but i doubt you could find a laptop that could handle those games for anything near the price range of a gamer :(
And Whiskey how much that thing cost?
By The way about crysis i hear that only the MADDENING OMFG hardcore rigs can play it at highest settings, is that true?
