It's using an elevator to jump higher than normal. There is a detailed description of it at http://www.ocrana.de/utbible/

Check the "15. Tricks" section for lift jumping and some other jumping techniques.

Lift JUMPING IS BEST FOR DM Ownage!

Deck 16 is the best map for it ride the lift and near the top jump and strafe a bit and land in front on the main floor to kill some unsuspecting prey

Hmmm. Dm tricks. That's something you don't read a lot about these days. Do some people really hang around lifts and constantly ride them up and down during a DM match?

rs: stand on an elevator sometime and as it's going up...jump. some maps to see GREAT examples of this are frostburn1/2 (2 has better "tricks" you can do, but 1s get you just as high) and 433.

on frostburn][, you can get on the lift and as it's going up jump and make it all the way to the windowed opening. On 433, get on the lowest lifts (center of map, where the rocket launcher is on the ground floor) if you time it PERFECT...you can jump up to the upper walkways with the armor/redeemer are. get on the lift, back a bit from the edge, look up...right before you hit the top of the rise run forward and jump as the elevator is still going up...you'll rocket up. I LOVE elevator tricks, they are great fun. and remember...a secondary piston shot when jumping with boots/elevator can do wonders if you just can't QUITE reach that ledge =) but thats very advanced lift jumping =)

and you need a nice ping for piston jumping too.

need a steady ping, but yes...like all things online faster = better. but i've seen some HPBs piston jump fine. it's just sorta weird to get the timing down
