Hi folks. I have been researching cpu's in my spare time over the last few weeks (I am not tech savvy but I have been learning). The one thing that I cannot figure out that bothers me the most is a pricing 'discrepancy' that I notice among processors (mostly intel)

I don't understand why one processor which has significantly inferior specifications costs more than another processor with superior specifications.

Here are a couple examples:
Intel Core 2 Duo E6420 Conroe 2.13GHz 4M shared L2 Cache LGA 775 ($200)
Intel Core 2 Duo E6600 Conroe 2.4GHz LGA 775 Processor Model BX80557E6600 ($230)

vs.

Intel Core 2 Duo E6750 Conroe 2.66GHz LGA 775 Processor Model BX80557E6750 ($195)

I must be missing something here

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Productcompare.aspx?Submit=ENE&N=2%2050001157%2040000343&bop=And&CompareItemList=N82E16819115003%2CN82E16819115029%2CN82E16819115016

the 6750 appears to be better in every way, except that its minimum voltage is a little higher.

FSB clock is higher too.

Nice find Cheese!

Just depends on the amount people are buying I'm sure. Those look like Newegg's prices, and I'd say that they are just buying more of the 6750s and so are able to give you a lower price since they pay less due to the number they are buying.
