A French company is using the latest version of the Unreal engine to create a Cel like game. They are holding a competition at this address: http://www.mapxiii.com and the goal of it is to create a level which comes out in the game.

The winner receives a home theater system or other stuff... 10 potential winners.

The :woot: part about this is that the editor is thus released (Version 829) for ANYBODY to use freely :D (no need to download illegal versions of UT2K3)

If you're a mapper type person and have been wanting to use this editor for quite some time now, download it and play away !!! all the terrain technology, prefab stuff, EVEN A MANUAL is THERE !!! =)

The file weighs in at 38 megs. There's not much textures in there, but it works. I know, I've tried it. The competition began yesterday and lasts for a month or so.

tried it out.....it has a lot of restrictions so i wont bother doing a map on it.

Arggg @ That demo map, a perfect example of how NOT to use the new editor. The textures suck, the lighting is a joke, the layout is non-existent. And the geometry is still BSP but with about 10 HW brushes scattered about. A good map will be made mainly with HW brushes. In a good map you shouldn't even be able to see much bsp because HW brush decorations, walls, pillars, architecture and such will cover it up.

That editor may be the same one used in Ut2003 but some were they said it wont work on the new Ut2003,you can only use the version that comes with the game.Some one tell me if i wroung.

That Editor isnt even compatible with UT2k3... So dont waste your time making UT2k3 maps with it.

Speaking of the ITEM...u know The ROTIDE(enlgish aye with the speak aye)....shhhhh....just went to gathering of UT cave dwellers on saturday and got my hands on the item in question.
The problem is my work is working me so friggin much i cant do anything with it.
so by the time the real item comes out i will buy the real item without having to use the other item....damn work and all it entails.
