Originally posted as the rules for the first w00t mapping competition, these can be uses as guidelines for creating your w00t creation.
Keep it w00t (http://www.EXTREMEw00t.com/rules.html#w00t) - Map must feature w00t style kickers ,a big non-walkable gap and a fall that results in instant death somewhere between the flags.
Keep it Simple (http://www.EXTREMEw00t.com/rules.html#simple) - Map must have a simple to follow, symmetrical layout and as a guideline be reasonably low poly ( a rough ballpark figure being 250 for high traffic areas , to 450 for large, open areas.)
Keep it quick (http://www.EXTREMEw00t.com/rules.html#quick) - It must be possible to capture the flag in 10 seconds or less. [ Originally this was 15-18 seconds, but 10 seconds is much more fun for 5v5]
Keep it smart (http://www.EXTREMEw00t.com/rules.html#smart) - The Map must have working AI, standard weapon placement, health and pickups.
Keep it colourful (http://www.EXTREMEw00t.com/rules.html#colourful)- Map must have clearly identifiable team colouring in bases and throughout map. This extends to the pads themselves. If you need help doing this, ask (http://www.unrealplayground.com/forums/newreply.php?do=newreply&p=460334). There is a map download below that contains a ready made, blue team kicker texture
Keep it open (http://www.EXTREMEw00t.com/rules.html#open) - No burying the flag in a hole or bunker - flag area must have a reasonably open area surrounding it. 1024uu3 minimum, with 2048uu3 or above being more desirable.
Keep it Comical (http://www.EXTREMEw00t.com/rules.html#comical)- The name of map must be a memorable/popular phrase/slogan with the word w00t supplanted somewhere. Failure to do so will result it a swift kick to the fork and disqualification.
