I was j/w what happend to all the old maps. Maybe not that old, but when I started playing on here there was some good maps. Like:

the original Boomerang

I like cola wars

and Crucified][

and I like Eagles

LOL what about FACE(or at least a good version of it)

the day version of atomic islands

i like NalisAzure][

From what I understand the admins try to keep a certain number of maps in the voting pool, so when more get added, they try to take some out. Most of those are older like you said, so they want to freshen it up most likely.

We've found that when we leave the older maps in the voting pool, people will vote for them without even looking at the newer maps. Hardly fair to people still working hard at making great maps for UT.

We try to limit the number of maps available for voting to about 100.

Yes, we're FORCING people to play the newer maps. :D

How do you know if you'll like them if you always want to play the old ones?

Yes, we're FORCING people to play the newer maps.

We play LAN once a month (me and my workmates) and we allways play new maps.
That way, everyone has the same adv\dis-advantages instead of someone knowing where the sheild belt, armour and redeemer is while others flounder with bio-rifles

Is it possible to bring an old map back for one week... even just in the vote, maybe no one will pick it...

I want to play the original Boomerang so bad (I just like the rail cars):D

Have you tried CTF-CoretOutpost? It's a very fun map and it has rail cars! You can pick it up from Nali City.

OT, isnt loydspeed's avatar the same one freakish used to have?

Back to topic: i like it the way it is, if you like those older maps so much, u can find many servers playing them (DvNA being one of them) but not many servers play the new maps.
