Hi Frosty. By any chance did you install any other programs or download anything that may have changed your windows environment? What was the last thing you did on your computer before this happenned? Most likely something running in the background can cause this to happen as the program or application or process may be sharing some files such as .dll files could cause this GPF to happen.

Frosty, are you running the latest UT2004 patch (http://download.beyondunreal.com/fileworks.php/official/ut2004/ut2004-winpatch3369.exe)?

Have you tried updating your graphics card drivers?

Have you updated recently via windowsupdate?

Have you made sure your machine is free of spyware & virii/worms?

It's strange that a lot of folks are experiencing the same issue. I have not experienced it though. I'm wondering if it has somerthing to do with the server crashing so much lately. I wonder if Pasto has not infected the server with a virus. Because my Zone Alarm firewall has been blocking a lot of unwanted intrusions lately when I join the CTF server. I suggest everyone to update thier Firewall and Antivirus programs immediately.

Haven't seen any warnings on my nod32 antivirus when on catalyst but I will admit I do disable my software firewall, although I've got stateful packet inspection etc active on my router that feeds this small network & haven't seen anything there.

Gunner666I ran a AV scan on the CATALYST.UT2004.CTF.Demo last week. Clean.

Having the same promlem, I think...

Recently, Ut crashes on me after joining in on a game on the Catalyst server. I'm on a mac, this hasn't happened on any other server, and I've tried playing at least 8 different servers to be sure this problem isn't something on my end. E-maild HuntrCker and he said "that a number of people are complaining about this" and "The CTF admins and myself have been trying to resolve these server attacks for the past few weeks, with limited success. For other players who have experienced the crashes, they have resolved their problem by updating their windows patches for some odd reason. Since you're on a MAC, that resolution isn't viable. I hope to resolve these attacks asap." He suggested I post here. I get into the game, last anywhere from a second or two to maybe a minute, there is some obvious lag, and UT crashes. The sucky thing is i'm on dialup, cant get DSL where i live, and so the Catalyst server is the only one that is close enough to me to get a good game on. hope someone can figure this out. just tried to play a few minutes ago, 6:30 Pacific time, 10-26. Crashed.

Hey Valis, I was talking to you about my crashing problem. Decided to post the text of the critical error window that comes up when I get dumped. Not sure if this will help but I thought I'd report it you. Usually the crashing problem doesn't go away until I reboot my computer. Anyways, thanks...
