Given that where years away from having a game that requires DX10.i would'ent even worry about it at the moment.

There are games in the next 12 months that will be optimized for DX10.

There are games in the next 12 months that will be optimized for DX10.Will the drivers for the cards be optimized for DirectX 10, though? Doubtful. I recommend waiting for the second generation of DX 10 capable cards, especially since a new OS (and possibly a new driver scheme) is involved.

The only one i've heard about is Crysis. CryEngine2,This has been developed with DX10 in mind. But even this will run with DX9

Wow...so we WILL have to give an arm and a leg to keep up with current technology. That's too bad. These new items just aren't cheap.

Now that i've read up on DX10 we appear to have a problem. It seems that there are no graphics card for Dx10.This means that we will have to upgrade .So here and now i'm making a stand and not putting up with it.They can S*D off.I'm sticking with what i've got.You dont need it for Vista.
Thats my rant for today.

If you want to keep UP with technology and run the latest stuff on highest settings you're gonna need the latest and greatest.
I've been thinking about getting a new card since I want to run SLI and 7800GTX is nowhere to be found on the market any longer, but I'll wait 'till the UT07 demo is released to see how it runs.

This right here is one of the biggest pitfalls of buying hardware, particularly video cards. Looking into the future, you're always going to see something that could be better, or more prepared to handle the newest features, etc. By the time DX10-ready cards are out, they'll be really expensive and a more reliable and efficient chipset will be right around the corner, or maybe a better motherboard, or something... who knows? After DX10 cards are fully established, there will be something else right around the corner that will be way better than that.
So... just buy something a little below top of the line and enjoy the time you spend playing the games you love.

Also don't forget that DX10 will be Vista only. If you're not planning on getting Vista until you have to like me, then go ahead and get a new card.
