Sadly I feel I must drop out of this competition aswell. I have got only trouble from my map recently, and after the last build I just did, half my map seems to be screwed up. Also, I doubt I would have finished anyways, with the deadline being 1 month away I was no where near BETA. So until any further notice, please remove my name from the participant list.
Maybe things will go better for the next mapping competition.

dropping out or whatever if this is the right topicSo until any further notice, please remove my name from the participant list.No offense guys, but whether your name is on the list or not, doesn't really seem to matter. At one point, the people currently on this list were set to finish a map for the competition, and maybe they still will. We've seen 24 hour mapping comps. I think UP has even had a 6 hour mapping comp. In the end, it's not about who "came through" with the their promises. It's who participated, who tried, and who gave it their all. In all UP mapping comps, the mad mapping scramble in the last hours is a given. It's usually crazy and always fun to be a part of.
Until the deadline comes, we won't know the final tally of maps or even the final tally of mappers really. Do not worry about the list. No one will hunt you down. Just map, finish, and submit what you can in this last month of the competition.

No way you're getting off the honorary list of participants, dudes
Not even if won't/can't finish your entry.

Twenty four hours? A 24 hour map can't be anything good, especially for something thats not DM.A quick search on UP yielded three 6 hour comps (CTF, DM, etc) and mention of a 4 hour one in UT. One had 20 entries submitted. Out of all these, I'll bet one or two might be "good". Of course, that's all subjective. I'm sure the comps were fun. My point was that you should all do what you can and don't worry about what you can't. (IOW, map)
