catalyst ctf server

Hi this is [KAL]fusion,

What is going on with the ctf server. Every time i go on i get nothing but crap. People like ayu and fera diablo swiss etc....

Iether spamming my name. Or tell me crap like I thought you were leet why am I killing you so much?

AYU called me a hotshot when he is the one sitting there and telling me "why am I killing you so much?" that sounds like he is the "hot shot" to me.

Other losers like swiss sitting there spamming the chat about stupid things and just ruining the game for everyone.

I'm getting sick of it. First time i played at the catalyst people were there to win, now it is a chat line and i get hunted down by LOSERS.

I'm probably the youngest one on the server and it really seems like most others act like little kids. Poor valis has to sit there and tell all these idiots to stop breaking the rules, haven't seen him get more then 5 minutes of game time in a while.

Nothing can be done, but it was fun while it was a ctf server.

Fusion, I am here to inform you that you are able to block text and voice chat from certain players. By pressing esc in-game and right clicking the person's name, you can ignore all text and voice from a specific player.

I know about the blocking chat thing. I've done that a lot of times. If only you could save people blocked chats, but i have to do it every time i enter the server.

I'm not trying to get anyone banned or anything. Valis knows what i'm talking about and has witnessed it about................ every time he's come to the server :(

Just wish some people would be more umm, what's the word I'm looking for? Oh yea, mature! HEHE

For the 3rd person view... Let's see what Huntr has to say about that. If I was able to, I would hang around there (most likely on webadmin) if I was given the priveledges. I will see what I can do about that one. Other than that feel free to visit the 1v1 and TDM servers as there are usually admin(s) present (me included) so you don't have to worry so much there. :)

-MIs there a concensus among the CTF admins regarding 3rd person view? I believe the reason I disabled it was due to a banned player who used 3rd person view along with fixing either the vert or horizontal mouse movement for aiming guidance.

Fusion, I think you'll find the main reason that the server has been this way lately is because school is out for the summer. Not that everyone who misbehaves is under age 18 by any means, college being in summer session affects people's free time as well. We do our best to keep people from bogging down gameplay but I really am loathe to hand out mass bans right off the bat just because people are acting dumb.

You're right that it does bog down my personal gameplay--but I try to get people to understand why the rules are the way they are and do a few kicks before moving to ban. Unfortunately not everyone is there to learn to be a better player... :rolleyes: it can be frustrating but as the 'better player' it's upon us to set an example and not be pulled down to their level. In the end if things are out of control there are admins to resolve it.

I do appreciate you using the forums to vent your frustrations, and please know that we're paying attention and will discuss these issues.

Usually when I start getting annoyed at people I hit ~ and type quit. Sometimes it's nice to take a step back and grab a cold bottle of pepsi.

Sure there is merit in wanting to keep your edge sharp, but why sacrifice having fun? Afterall it's a game, you can always come back to it when your in a better mood.

*shrugs* I havent had much problems, but i'm on again and off again with the server. I think it depends who is online when you connect. If its a bunch of jerks, well...they're going to be jerks. If not, then you may have a different experience.

The server isnt filled with jerks 24 hours a day, and neither is it free from it.
