Hmmm....i've rarely used actual Utx packages, but due to my SP being in multiple parts, i'm using a general one for multi used textures.

So, here's my problem.
I've been hammering into Wangara2, adding a few more textures to Wangara.Utx no rpoblem, but when i've loaded up OSM-WangaraBETA2 i get about 12 no texture errors. now these textures we're in Wanagara.Utx but have somehow dissapeared?
What am i doing wrong? Is it like MyLevel where if you haven't used them they remove themselves?
I thought once saved that was it, saved.....groan.... :hammer:

I thought once saved that was it, saved.....groan.... :hammer:This is quite likely something similar. I have to used Utx files for OSMT and while working on that package, I have to be careful. In my case, one particular texture, the OSM SinglePlayer gametype screenshot FamilyPhoto is usually lost after editing that texture package. I'm not 100% on the details of why, but it is definately related to the same "use it of loose it" protocols we deal with in a myLevel package. I have to explicitly reimport this FamilyPhoto tex to it's proper place and save after modifiying the utx. Last time I worked on it was when I added SkaarjAssassin and SkaarjLord textures and I remember having to go through that. But, if I don't modify the .utx, it's stable of course.

I guess one way to ensure textures are being properly seen as being used, is to use them in ways the Player won't see, but the Editor will. I know I use the "You Died" texture as a Skin on the OSMObjectiveManager, so that the overlay will always be available to mappers wanting to set up a DeathScene with it.

Yep, after further investigating this is the exact problem.
The only textures that were culled were wep textures (with the weps being in a MyLevel package).
I was thinking of adding multiple static mesh cubes off to the side of the map with all the textures from the package on each cube.
Be a bit tedious doing it, but no chance they will dissapear.

Like the Skins slots on the OSMObjectiveManager go completely unused, but the editor still sees the "You Died" texture I have in there. Whatever works, I say. :p

I had the same issue making skins for a playermodel a while back - it stemmed from me not opening the entire package before adding new stuff - just like ape described.

You just need to make sure you do the 'load entire package' thing before saving, as it won't just append new textures , but overwrite the old package with a newer , sometimes smaller package.

Nothing worse than checking your package and finding it's smaller than it was last time you looked. :o

ROFL

I'm going to keep a good eye on my package from now on. ;)

It pays to, else one may look one day and find MyPackage is corrupt. :blah:
