Episode V:Intel Strikes back !

No, this is not star wars...but something more real and interesting....the processor wars :p

Intel has released the reports about the tests of its new CoreDuo processors.....Merom,Conroe,Woodcrest.....and in that( specifically Conroe) has outclassed AMD completely by giving 30% better performance at 40% less power consumption. Though AMD has disputed these claims, the truth is that they dont have a model ready to compete with Conroe at the moment.

after a year and a half intel should be able to do something to compete w/ the amd64. though it is competing with a current 939. and also isnt expected to come out till Q3 (6months). so im sure amd will have time to put something else out. props to the power consumption tho. intels have always used way too much power.

if you change proccessors, and it makes a noticeable improvement to your electricity bill, something's wrong here ;) . in any case I doubt Intel's supposed advantage is going to last long, AMD probably has a chip up their sleeves they were saving specifically to beat down something like this. M$ isn't releasing Halo 3 until the PS3 comes out, same deal here.
