I just saw Basic on TV today. It was phenominal, and i don't want to give it away so i'll just tell you about the beginning.
It's a movie about some rangers in basic training, and they go on a practice mission in the jungle during a hurricane. When a helicopter comes to pick them up, they see a ranger carrying another over his shoulder. this ranger is shot at, shoots back, and kills his agressor. These said 2 rangers are the only ones who come out of the mission. the one who was carried out over the other ranger's shoulder is in medical treatment. An Ex-Ranger who is brought in to get information. The story is about how he and another woman (i think she's a commander, i forget her rank) find out what really happened.

the story hast incredible twists, and seems to go around in circles. it all comes tgether in the end, in a spectacular way.

anyone else seen it? cause i still have some loose ends i don't understand, like
was the man who died in the hospital and wrote a bleeding 8 on the woman's hand in section 8? i couldn't figure that out.

Its ok, if you like John Travolta. I don't know if he really plays a credible Green Beret. Also, I thought the end was a little confusing, figuring out exactly WHY everything happened. Overall, decent movie, one I enjoyed watching on TV. I was just glad I didn't pay to go see it in the theater.

I recall being somewhat engrossed during the movie which I saw on HBOamaxStarsEncore. But as more and more plot twists were revealed I got more and more incredulous that the script had been green-lighted.

I thought it was alright. Didn't quite have the twist payoff like, say, Usual Suspects did.
