Well the question is already told.
I noticed some websites have custom icons when you bookmark them.
How is that done? This interests me big time.

I've yelled, cursed, chain smoked, you name it. The only thing that seems to influence those icons is some random force or my power of deletion. :type:


I'd like to know too, actually.

those are powered by site aren't they? mine always seem to magically disappear after a time for no apparent reasons...

Stick the above somewhere in the head section of your page, and change the href attribute to point to the .ico file you want to use.

Your icon has to be the Windows .ico type...I haven't messed with this for awhile, but I believe GIMP can create them. :dunno:

I use the free .ico export plug-in for http://www.telegraphics.com.au/sw/ and the icon-bundle thing to stick all the different sizes into one .ico file. :)

Though if you've got the cash , Microangelo is a good investment, if you're into customising stuff - it's one of the most sophisticated icon development programs around.
