I checked viahardware.com and found out about some problems with VIA KT133 and GF2/TNT series of cards crashing 3D computer games. So right now i have a GF2MX400 and plan to switch the mobos rather than go back to my old TNT2m64(a practical joke in today's hardware arena).
So i have only a few wants in terms of the mobos right now:
A) Supports 333Mhz DDRram (at least 2 or more Ram slots)
B) Supports my 700mhz Duron(Spitfire, another joke nowadays...), i think it's not a big problem since Socket A mobos made today should be backwards compatible.
C) ATX format
D) 5 PCI slots
E) AGP slot (DUH!)
F) ATA 100 support ( I don't really need ATA 133, I'll buy a card for SerialATA if it comes out)
I know Sis745 and ViA KT333 and Ali Magick something supports DDR333mhz... just curious which mobos are good, however, which chipset offers fast bandwidth? I don't want something extravagant, just an all-rounder that does all of the above.
I'm loving my KX7-333. :D

is it an extravagant product or an all-rounder?

Go to www.abit.com.tw for specs on this board.
Viperman has the Asus 333mhz board and he really likes it also.
I would go with the following boards with the KT333 chipset:
Abit
Asus
Soyo
MSI
Gigabyte
Check out www.tomshardware.com they recently did a 12 board shootout with the KT333 chipset.

We don't have SOYO in HOng Kong >.<
I would have liked it's silver PCB board (saw it in PCGamer).
Then again...

I really like my A7v333 Raid. No problems. I would not get the Abit board. Go to
www.amdmb.com and go to the forms. Lots of of great info about all boards.

Here's my selection.
It's two Taiwanese brand boards.
One is the 7VJL, don't know what's the english name of manufacturer.
It's got KT333CE northbridge, and VT8235 southbridge, so it supports USB 2.0, as well as ATA133 and DDR 333. Plus it is a VIA's integrated network card.
It comes with a giant bundle of stuff as well.
Costs 799 bucks Hong Kong.
The other brand is K7VTA3/KT333R
It's got KT333 Northbridge, VT8233A (older) southbridge, so no support for USB 2.0, a RealTek 8100/B chip for DSL, and particularly, a Promise Raid chip that has Raid 0 and Raid 1 functions. It costs about $650. SHould I get this one or the other?

I got the SOYO Dragon MB
5.1 Surround / RAID Ready / 100/10LAN
(Besides my PCI SoundBlaster Audigy 24bit - totaL OF 10.2 SPEAKERS heheheh)
DDR Memory Only!
233Mhz Bus
You can over clock the CPU and Memory
hmmmm what else...
oh... you better have AC in your room or sure it
will get hot ass hell in your room...
i got me a 22"Mitsubishi Diamond Pro 1010e Monitor that runs at like 100degree temp
and my CPU at 150degree (hot) with a 7600RPM fan (LOUD - my pc hovers)
5600rpm fan on bus
(3) 4600rpm fan on the chasis..
3 hard drives
(1 normal and 2 are RAID 0)
400watt power supply
ohh..my video card G4Ti4200 has a fan too....
(tomorrow i plan to bring my (office) small clip fan to clip it to my PC open case)
by bedroom is way hoter than my living room...
im thinking about a water cool system for my PC for when I upgrade my CPU... Soyo MB supports any upgrade (so they say)
...
i think thats why i crash all the time...

I wouldn't trade my Abit for 2 of another manufacturers.

Abit is expensive and the only board i see (i think) is the AT7, dunno if its the same thing.

I found my problem. It's not the chipset, but the fan got busted... curiously enuff, my CPU doesn't burn itself to death (thank god, even tho it's a 700Mhz Duron)... so all I did was replace the fan and voila, my computer stopped crashing!
