Server connect probs on Demo+Full

OK ---so first---u guyz ROCK!

My Set-up>>
Mac G4
9.2
320Mb RAM
Built in Vid -ATI ragepro16mb
Cable + linksys cab/dsl x4

At the mo I got 2 main probs.

1} On UT Demo.
I love to play on the demo UT server but recently can't get on any servers due to error "Can't find CS1a Package". I fixed same prob previously -->"CS1" package -- someone was kind enough to send it too me.
Anyone got this new CS1a file?
No-one on servers websites has heard of this file.
I miss kicking those hardcore demo guyz butts!:moon:

2} On UT Full.
I have my main servers in my favorites on the UT browser, and can play these.
Two of my favorite servers, though, Gibgames and Gamersedge are 9999ed out!
Then when I ping all CTF servers they load fine but I click to enter one and my system crashes.
Tried reloading UT --->same prob.
Anyone help?

Scrap the Mac and get a PC. :D

Well, if those two servers are the only two that are coming up 9999 it's time to find two different servers, you're either blocked or they aren't up.

When you crash do you get an error? Have you done the obvious things yet like turn off virtual memory (if it's on), make sure you've allocated enough RAM for the game, made sure the driver for you Rage is up to date (newest one is maybe a month old.)etc

What kind of connection do you have?

yeah, what JB said... appears isolated, servers either down or hidden... and never ever underestimate the chaos that UTpure can cause you. if ya play with us, then yer usin' the lastest version... if you play elsewhere, you might be usin' an older version... mulitiple versions of UTpurehell in the system is conflicted poison... clean yer **** out for better performance.

get yer a$$ outta those silly demo servers and get with it hard in the playground,

Macs---> U don't know what ya missin! hehe!(eg. try doing firewire 3CCD digicam d/l and editing the likes of FinalcutPro on a pc):hammer:

...I crash when trying to access the servers on the CTF browser, --> every server I try!, so I can't play or add new servers to my favorites.
So now I only have 24player servers(=choppy).....(I like a variety of servers available)
(which is why I have gone to playing demo again)

Types of crash---> UT just quits, mouse freezes, and worst a bomb and "Sorry system error occurred "Unreal Tournament" address error.

Which suggests that drinkingvodka is on the right wavelength.

I have done the obvious, (including re-installing UT), my ATI Driver Update isv2.0.4 and ATI Rage 128 3D Accelerator is v6.3.5. Are these the latest? I "software update".
ATI.com and Apple.com don't make it easy to check the latest versions.

Yeah....my original thoughts were that this is a PURE problem.
But can u tell me which are the offending files to clear , please?

And...hey fellow s[mac]user--->we been head to head a few times!
and had a few laughs too. Demo is cool --it's smoother than full and some of the guyz i used to play 2 years ago are still there!!!
Make mine a citronfreeze!

Ok, when you say 'address error' is it like a type 2 error or is it something else? Do us a favor and copy the exact text from the errors. If your getting kernal panics (the bomb) then you may have something fugged in the system software itself.

Oh I was gonna ask...did you install extra RAM in any of the systems? If so, where did you get it, is it Apple RAM etc.

They aren't the newest. Go here (http://www.ati.com/support/drivers/mac/macos-march-2002-update.html) for OS9 drivers and here (http://www.ati.com/support/drivers/mac/macos-march-2002-update.html) for OSX drivers.

Thanks for the compliments. Hopefully I'll actually have a site up there soon and a new mix on the way.
