YAY, i'm allowed to get a new PC.
so it's a P4 2gig, DDR,40gig for me.
Unfortunately, i've gotta buy a new couch, pull up the carpet, sand and stain the floors, and buy a rug.
So a $1500 machine is gonna cost me $4000.
Compromise sucks.......

Don't sweat it Spargo. In a few years it(your nice, new, super fast computer) will be an old, slow relic of the past, unworthy of the new games of the future. The new couch and the new rug will last longer. Sad, but true. Oh, and the finish on the floor will probably last longer than your new dream machine also.
We all have the same problem, and yet we're blessed at the same time. The technology changes so fast, so fast. It's good to be alive at this time. The wheels are spinning like a top. Don't you love it?

Too fast......
When i got our PC, the fastest thing out was 600Mhz.
GeForce was just coming out, and with unreliable drivers so i opted for a voodoo3 300 AGP.
Now i have a GeForce2 64Mb though.
But that can stay in there.
When Lord_Ryan comes over it'll be LAN TIME.
And yes, the couch and floor will last a while i hope.

It's a strange game we play, this tech thing. We lose and we win at the same time.

A wise man once said.....
"if you wait for the price to drop, you miss out on the fun to be had from the latest tech.
But now and enjoy it."
He was refering to the N64 at the time it was released.
$800 Aus.
Then dropped to $600

"Where a calculator on the ENIAC is equpped with 18,000 vaccuum tubes and weighs 30 tons, computers in the future may have only 1,000 vaccuum tubes and perhaps weigh 1.5-2 tons."
