This may sound completely foolish, but could not find any info on the forum. Will the maps mods and such work with the UT Demo, or only the retail version? have retail of UT2003 and 4, but not the original UT. As a side, how incompatable are the various versions when it comes to maps and mods? Can you run a UT map in UT2003?

UT uses a total different engine then UT2kx, so maps aren't interuseable. You can convert UT maps to UTk and maybe even vice versa.

Don't think mods or maps work on the demo.

In theory you might be able to play custom maps in the UT demo. All you have to do to get a map working is to place the map in the maps folder of the Unreal tournament folder to play it with the normal version. I would give it a try although I did try it with the UT2004 demo and it didn't work there but you never know with the original UT demo. I would just give it a try.

- UT2K4 will Play UT2K3 maps.
- Don't think UT2K3 will play UT2K4 maps, certainly won't in the gametypes that weren't there in 2K3, but then again, I've never tried, and why would you, if you have UT2K4.
- UT2Kx will not play UT99 maps
- UT99 Demo will not play UT99 maps, at least not in my experience.

Go buy UT99 - you should be able to find it at EBWorld or Gamestop - prolly get it for 5-10 bucks. That's the easiest thing to do.
