Reggie White, the former Eagle, Packer, and Panther died in his sleep at age 43.

The Story (http://espn.go.com/classic/obit/s/2004/1226/1953400.html)

I drove home this afternoon listening to stories from Packer fans about their experiences with Reggie White. It was surprising the small ways he touched the lives of many people, and he will be missed around here as much for the man he was as he is for the player he was.

He was from Chattanooga, TN....just down the road and was the 2nd best player ever to play for the Univ. of TN behind Peyton. Simply an awesome guy. I had prolly 10-12 classes with him at UT as we were there at the same time.

I never really paid too close attention to Reggie except when he was playing football but now that I think back I have to say that I NEVER heard anyone ever say one bad thing about him and I never heard him ever say anything negative. This is a role model of the highest caliber. Even if he did not ever play football and was not known world wide, I'll bet he would have made gigantic contributions to humanity.

I hope I can be half the man he was and I am going to start right now on my not being negative in my life. You never know when your time is up. And isn't it better to live like Reggie did? With pride and love for his fellow man? The more stories I hear about him the more I find to like about him.

He was a giant among giants. Funny how we never appreciate things until they are gone.

Rest in peace Mr White. I am pretty sure he has a special place somewhere.
