Its a bonus program on the last disc of UT2003 and 2004. It lets u paint on the skins, and make your own skins and stuff. But im wonderin how u make custom weapon skins :dunno:

If you want to make a new gun, u need to model it first, then code and texture it in Photoshop. Upaint is mostly used for texturing characters I think..

you can use Upaint for texturing most self-made 3d objects i think , i just don't know how

try converting them to psk then load it up in upaint...maybe that will work.

Well i was thinking of using an existing model, kind of like AM did with her OMFG rocket gun. She said she skinned it in photoshop, but i dont know how to import .utx.

Anyway u can change the skin in PS?

I believe you export it as a skeletal mesh. The skull icon on the export shelf tab.
Even if you wanted to make your own and skin it in Upaint, you would still need to lay out the UVs so you may as well use PS.
In PS you might try exporting the base metal textures you like, and then when you (layout the UVs in Maya and) get a UV snapshot in PS make patterns out of the textures you exported from UED and fill the majority of your new skin this way and you can add to it afterwards.
