it has been ported to the UT2004 engine (requires UT2004 installed) and is currently an open public beta! It has some lag/glitch issues but I remember XMP being a bit worse in this respect under player load, and the vehicles are now smooth!

By 'smooth' I'm guessing you mean the vehicles handle well, instead of the clucky like the vehicles in the original UT.

Played it a bit the last day or so. Definately bugs (pretty easy to die around same-team vehicles) and some lag but lag-wise its already WAY ahead of Unreal2 XMP since it has the 'netcode improvements' in it that we heard about for 3 years but didn't actually get until 2k4...
In fact I think I'll go play it some more right now :p

i like it...some particle effects arent as sharp as in U2 and i had this nasty bug in one of the maps where at first a few textures were corrupted...then meshes started disapearing...then it was like being stuck in an antiportal
bit disconcerting really...maybe the ol' MX440 was overheating :p
anyway tis good fun, the raptor seems too much like its made of some sort of polystyrene but otherwise a nice conversion

the raptor seems wonked, u can't spin out or do any form of stopping-turn, it just skids the direction u choose and stops, very wierd

u need graphics card with pixel shading for it to work properly

Whole point of the raptor in the last version and this version is to use the 'speed' button to JUMP!
